I have seen your low key and high key shooting methods. The same model, but with makeup, is completely different. Recently I also want to try low key shooting. After watching your video, I learned a lot. It is simple. It’s easy. I hope I can take pictures like yours!

Great fun and informative as always. Appreciate the LR tips. Gavin always pops in on the entrance to the video like an excited kid ready to play. And then makes some playful and interesting images. I think that's the spirit we need to remember to keep when we photograph. I like the create an actual scene approach. I have three Godox (Flashpoint) speed lights as my primary lighting along with the holders and modifiers. Great lights and a lot for the money. I was running Sony a6000s. When I picked up my Canon 6D & 7D I was able to get the Flashpoint X2T-C used in excellent condition form Adorama. Just like that TTL capable if I desired on the Canon as had been on the Sony. I think I need to get the gear back out and start doing some thematic images.

Hi Gavin, another great video. Thanks. What would be great, and what none of the Adorama presenters seem to do, is to work with "regular" people. For example, bald men with shiny scalps, older light complexioned people with gray or white hair, people with long noses or long faces, heavy set people, etc. In other words, the types of faces that we viewers are likely to be photographing. Any chance of doing a series of videos on how to light and photograph "regular" people?

Another awesome presentation Gavin!!!! Can I ask how you decide on how much head room you leave (if any) in your portrait photography.
@GavinHoey3 жыл бұрын
Good question. There's no set rule, it's more a case of what feels right. If you need a starting point, aim to keep your subjects eyes (or head on a wide shot) on the upper third line.

Thank you soooooo much Mr. Gavin. I love photography and I'm learning a lot from you. What table are you using there on the stand and what software you use in it to show the photos?
