Hi Chen, Really appreciate what you are doing to help incoming first years about GRAD loans, and I was hoping if you could help answer a few questions as if I were an incoming first year to Temple. 1) Is the deadline to submit FAFSA for GRAD schools different from that of UNDERGRAD schools? 2) For incoming first years (except for those coming this Fall), should I have decided before June if I was going to be residing within the campus dorms or apartments before going over my financial award letter with my financial advisor? 3) If I were eligible for the Health Professions Loan, and I wanted to be financially independent, but a little more relaxed than you in terms of borrowing, would you recommend what I borrow ( ALL of UNSUB loans to cover tuition / ALL of HEALTH PROF loans & remainder of GRAD plus to cover living expenses, etc.) ? 4) Do you have any advice on what to ask / mention to our financial advisor when discussing which loans to utilize? Thanks again

oh geez thanks for reminding me I have to submit my FAFSA lol. 1) Not sure about undergrad but here you should try to submit around April because finance department will need to process loans. For incoming students they usually will give you instructions on what to do when 2) You can always adjust the amount of loan you receive. Lets say you take out too much you can always talk to advisor and say you'd like to put money back. Same goes for asking for more money. No harm in asking for more than you need 3&4) Yeah definitely get the loans with the least interest first. The thing about Health loans is that you get that in mid oct- november. You prob need to ask for Grad plus in the meantime while Health loan is being processed. Once you do get Health loan you have a couple options. You can keep it or you can use the loan to pay back your Grad plus loan
