Tested after SotO Release: 3 button rotation with boons/condis/cake + Relic of the Fractal: 24k DPS Still viable! Edit: Tested after Janthir Release: - Radiant Fire trait no longer gives random Torch 4 "freebies" and instead just passively buffs it. - Got almost exact same dps as did in SotO above with 3 button rotation. Still viable!

I just unlocked willbender the other day. Ran right up to a mob with all the joy of a warrior norn and got slapped into the ground. Had no idea what I was doing, especially since I haven’t played guardian in about 2 years. Now order can be restored, and I can slap other people into the ground. Thank you Muk for making the earth spin on the right axis again!

Hello. Ty for the guide ! I think you can swap most of your accessories to sinister to gain a few bits of dps. Balthazar rune (50) + traits (20) + full Viper (~42) adds up to 112% burning duration. With all sinister accessories (exempt one ring) you can trade the wasted 12% burning duration to condition damage.

If you're poor like me and don't have a full set of vipers already, the gear setup on SC is actually cheaper (just skip the sigil of torment suggested on the SC site, being 12g richer is better than 300 extra DPS). Grieving armour costs less then 2g to craft per piece, and grieving weapons/accessories can be bought from the vendor in Desert Highlands for much less gold so long as you have those useless piles of elegy mosaics sitting around from playing PoF. If you use SC setup and you're ultra cheap, you can use sigil of smoldering to get 100% burn duration instead of SC suggested food so that you can use a cheaper food option, because putting bread on the table is damn expensive. Some testing results: Sword auto will do 1.3k more DPS compared to scepter autos. Adding sceptor 2 adds 2.1k DPS but adding sword 2 adds only 1.3k DPS , so they actually end up being very similar if you use skill 2. You can add an additional 1k DPS if you want to mash sword 3 so long as it is lowest priority and only used when the only other option is autoattack.

This perfect timing.. I've been having fun on my Guardian and to be honest I have no idea how to play it properly.. This is really helpful the only problem is I don't have that type of gear so probably won't be able to pull out that kind off numbers. Probably take me ages to get legendary Gear as I don't get on it as much. Btw your character looks awesome.

You certainly don't need legendary. It has the same stats as ascended and is only a 6% increase over exotic (see "rarity" on wiki).

Consider running around in Verdant Brink for a bit. Not only will the events there give you some money just naturally, but every 500 gears you get +1 single gold, will net you an armor of your choice (except chest), with any stats you may want. The balthy runes should be fairly cheap since last I checked. And if you're lacking accessories, just collect the berries in bitterfrost for a few days. If you have multiple characters you can speed up the process immensely. If you have Dragonfall, you can also use that to get any ascended trinket except for the back. You can collect motes very fast, since there are a lot of them and the meta gives good money and motes as well. Pro tip: If you do go with Dragonfall, check a "gathering supplies" vendor in any major city and buy yourself a few "bountiful" scythes with karma. Those have a chance to double (or triple/quadruple etc.) your mote pickups. And don't worry about legendary gear. I only play casually as well and I'm still way behind in terms of legendary armor. Exotic gear is really all you need and you can always make the slight step-up to ascended later.

Honestly, if you ever play WvW, just start stacking unopened bronze reward armor chests. I have 25 of them right now, and whenever I want to try a new build for an armor class I don't have, I just pop 6 or so. You get one freebie every week, and I think it's something not pointed out enough. My brother opens them to salvage, but unlike me, he has only 1 character to gear. I play around with at least 7 of mine, so it's a good thing to stockpile.

There is a semi low instansity Condi Virtuoso, with Dagger and sword. hit 2,3 and 5 off cooldown, and shatter when you get 5 blades. its bit more involved than hit stun signet and shatter 3 for CC.

Gotta say I loved the mobility aspect and the flashy moves (dragonhunter felt so stiff with all these animations that hold you in place or slow you), but then I was heavily discouraged by the weak and frail body you have. Felt like anytime I didn't have the lifesteal heal off cd I couldn't really engage in fights.

Cele Signet Tempest is close enough. Fire 132/Earth 212/Tempest 121, Sc/Wh, Balth Runes, Bursting/Earth sigils. Restoration, Air, Earth, Fire signets and the elite Elemental Glyph. You then just camp fire, auto attack and occasionally overload Fire. You cover everything in burns and bleeds and stack might on yourself. If you need to CC press Air Signet, Earth Signet, then go back to autoing.

"Amplified wrath" was nerfed from 15% to 10% in PvE only. And banner/spirits don't give what they used to. That would account for a small loss in damage but not what you describe. Confirm you have boons and the golem has conditions on it?

wait I thought u could achieve 100% burn duration with just a viper amulet and all other duration comes from talents, runes and sigils. So u just grab condi dmg, crit and vitality gear

Can't tell If I'm doing something wrong or Willbender got nerfed into the ground but it's most likely a nerf. Hitting 22k max with all buffs + food and golem has the right debuffs on but it's still pretty decent.

wouldn't it be more bang for your buck to make it a 4 button rotation and instead of sword/torch, have sceptre torch while spamming sceptre 2 on top of f1, torch 4 and PF?

Yes, but as he pointed out this is as much as can be done with as few button pushes as possible. Adding another constant button push for something that's not a huge increase isn't worth it for these style of builds.

Not really about dps increase as much as it is about ease of use. The dps being high is a nice plus, not the focus. The main idea of the build is to not require much input from the player, for a variety of reasons.

In general for basic farming peppermint bars+pumpkin oil (or similar). If you wanna pump damage, just take your generic condi food+utility. Koi cakes and the icicle come to mind, but there are lots of alternatives. If you can make ascended food, craft anything flatbread-related.
