Low Oil Pressure Symptoms and Causes

My last vehicle which had VVT had 535,000km (300K miles) on it when the camshaft snapped due to a casting defect. The engine was running just fine before that and the engine wasn't using any oil. I used Amsoil Signature Series in it from almost the beginning with extended drain intervals. The engine inside was spotlessly clean like I had been changing my oil at 3,000 mile (5,000km) oil change intervals despite it being 3x that amount. It made me a real believer in the product.
