Thanks for the video. I have created fine and coarse STL files that suggest that the number of triangles is much smaller than the file that is saved. For example, on the coarse setting, the model I have says it uses 746 triangles but when saved it uses 8302 triangles. The fine version is 1780 but is also saved as 8302 triangles. Why the difference? I also have used Blender to reduce the mesh but I will try your approach as well ...

Thanks was trying to model a "cybrtruck" looking thing but with more polygons. This makes it easier.

Hi! this is great. How did you color (texture) the tree afterwards? All my STL's are always blank. And I usually use visualizer or Solidworks for textures on native files.

That's a great idea! Though to clarify, do you mean have a whole bunch of bends that when formed makes the tree or cut every triangle out and weld at each seam?

@@VirtualFlat hello, section it into blocks, with 2-3-4 folded faces, then reassemble each block to form the entire tree with the thickness of the sheet it's possible? Thanks.

thanks, printing a NY grip and the STL i found was a HD render, hard to stick the thing on the back of it with 10 quadrillion goddamn triangles. thanks dude!

In this video, I used SnagIt from Techsmith to record my screen, but the real magic is in the editing! I just have the Keyboard display and SolidWorks on the same screen. I then crop both of them out and place them like you see. I then add the video from my camcorder crop that too. I'm glad you like it! I'm planning to edit my tutorials like this for the foreseeable future. Thanks for watching!

This does not work in 2018. After viewing the video several times I heard that this is a new feature of 2020. Thus, I had to do it in rhino.
