Mitchells Track is steep and definitely challenging going down as much as going up! Did this track in May 2024 and some of it you couldn't even get out of L1 for much of the way, but my gosh the views over Lake Eildon are the best but I guess you missed them in the dark! 🙃

We didn’t this time but we just googled it and it looks awesome! We’ll try to get there before we leave Vic. Thanks for the suggestion 😀

Great video guys, it is beautiful country and the video provided an excellent view of the area and the tracks. Glad you worked out How qua towards the end!. I travelled into the area regularly as a teenager and twenty something many many years ago; you have whetted my appetite again maybe I will put some new tyres on the Forester and take off. I hope you travelled the 8km south from Jamieson and visited the very quaint "Kevington Hilton" Gary

Hi! Thanks so much 😊 haha yes apologies for the pronunciation.. we got there in the end! It means a lot that someone so familiar to the area seems to think we somewhat did the area justice - always so hard translating the beauty through the camera! The area is so amazing we absolutely love it. We think getting the forester back out sounds like a great plan - maybe we will see you on the tracks! Unfortunately we didn’t get there - but we are still in the area so we will definitely try to visit before we leave. Thanks for the suggestion!

Loved the video. The scenery and photography were amazing. No wonder you ran out of daylight. My suggestion for the dust is to get a rechargeable Ryobi or Makita hand-held blower. Also, it's handy for getting a fire going.

Thanks so much for watching! Really glad you liked it 😊 yes.. in hind site we probably could have picked one of those tracks for the day not 3… just got to excited haha. Some really great tracks out that way. Yes great suggestion, we will definitely look into getting one of those for the road - would make the process wayyyyy faster for sure

Only just started watching-great videos of a beautiful part of the country! Don't know if it's been mentioned before- try to keep your thumbs outside the steering wheel on the rough tracks, if they are on the inside and you hit a rock, the wheel might spin and break a thumb.
@BorderlandExplorers7 ай бұрын
Thank you! It’s amazing isn’t it - we’re stoked that we’ve been been to spend a decent amount of time exploring. It’s funny you mention that about thumb positioning - it was only a couple of days ago that I saw someone speaking about it in another KZbin video where I’d previously given it no thought. Thank you 😀. We’ll definitely be doing that now - I can definitely see how easy it would be to snap a thumb if the wheel pulls unexpectedly.

@BorderlandExplorers4 ай бұрын
No worries and thank you for watching! Not dumb at all, I think we forgot to say when we were there. This was around April 2024. Would definitely recommend that time of year - perfect temperature (cool at night but not TOO cold) and beautiful days

Get your self a little ozito blower from Bunnings. They like $40 or so $$$ and it would make getting the dust of so much easier and quicker

How is the MRT canopy treating you guys? Is it sealed well?
@BorderlandExplorers6 ай бұрын
It’s been amazing….we’re so happy with it. The dust seals are absolutely spot on - they’re legit better than the seals on the actual car. We just did the Oodnadatta Track and it’s the finest dust we’ve come across, and not a speck got through the canopy seals.
@BorderlandExplorers6 ай бұрын
Same goes for water, never had any get in the canopy with both pressure washing and heavy rain.
