You do realize that if you are in a game with people playing like that, you're on the same level right ? You're basically doing the exact same thing the people in these videos are doing "it's not me it's my teammates". Elo Hell has never been a thing in any game, if it were, master players couldn't get out of low ranks by solocarrying. If you're hardstuck it's because you're around your real MMR, it's not because of your mates.
@kirakizae
@kirakizae Жыл бұрын
@@AngyRoar I had a chronos that AFKd and never joined team fights and I was support. I’m not saying it’s impossible to get out of, but it can be extremely disheartening when people are so salty/bad at the game that they ruin 30-40 minutes of someone else’s life. Also you have to play roles that you might not like just to rank up, like carry, mid or jungle. I love support and solo but I can’t carry a game in those games when my team has over 20 deaths combined and im top everything and we’re still in landing phase
@AngyRoar
@AngyRoar Жыл бұрын
@M0nty M0le Sure but don't forget that the ennemy team has the same probability of having those same bad players as you have, which means that with enough games this factor becomes irrelevant. And having teammates that rage quit / afk is something that happens at literally every single rank, it's not something that dissapears as you rank up.
@kirakizae
@kirakizae Жыл бұрын
@@AngyRoar i understand what you’re saying, but continuously getting people like that every game feels like an elo hell, either a game is a stomp or a game is a wash because of the actions of 1 or even multiple players. Mechanics can be on point but if the enemy time can freely rotate because someone just isn’t playing it’s annoying. I think the real problem is the reporting system at hi Rez 🤷🏾‍♂️

I love this series because it is real time evidence of the dunning-kruger effect, that a majority of lower-skilled people overestimate their abilities because they simply can't comprehend what they don't know, where as more skilled people tend to underestimate themselves because they're aware of their shortcomings but don't necessarily know how to fix them. I am also aware some lower skilled players are self aware enough to know they're just not that good like myself haha

I love this because a build can only get you so far. Positioning, God specific mechanics, and other parts of the game that you only learn from hundreds of hours of playing are much more important for improving. I hate finding out I've been playing a God wrong or leaving a lot of damage on the table, but how would you ever figure some of it out without outside knowledge or years of experience?

I've got a lot of experience on Ao and it's clear that the guy is a bundle of nerves and failing to use the 2 in the nuanced fashion required at this level. He pops the ability early like a safety blanket, signaling to the higher ranked player to wait before initiating, and the result is the ability is down before the fight even begins. He also throws the ability way too early in fights. For instance, he doesn't wait to confirm that Maui or Discordia's CC abilities are down before engaging the dragons and attempting to burn Discordia down, resulting in him having to throw the dragons in vain. It should only really be fired on the final dragon as a slow to catch and clean up a kill before more escapes or cc's come back up in the enemy kits.
