In these videos it should be noted that the reason for rewiring the stater coil order is to reduce the voltage output to 30VDC or less. If the motor is operated as a generator, as originally wired, it will put out 240VDC at around 300 RPM.. I have three of them stacked and run at over 1,000 RPM to achieve 420 VDC for my high voltage Solaredge inverter at night when the solar panels go down, because that is the voltage needed to charge the battery bank and operate the system off grid. I use the three stacked generator coils in parallel, operated from a 16 HP gasoline engine converted to operate on hydrogen. There is a way around the typical problems if you just pay attention, and it doesn't cost as much if you can make and operate your own system and processes.

Bought an LG stove, ice box, washer and dryer [expensive mistake], only the dryer still works. Anyway, been looking at the washer under the shed, will remove the motor assembly. I experiment with many different things and will do the same with the LG part. Thanks for the info.

Very cool, another way to spin that thing that would really be cool to see is with steam. With some fire wood and a fire place or wood stove in a remote cabin you just need to light the fireplace or wood stove and make some steam and you're lounging on the couch wating you favorite tv show. LOL You could also make an oil burner to heat the water to make the steam? This would a great portable generator design to take out in the wilderness, make it run off of oil and a wood burner attachment as well to setup on a camp fire. That would be great to have building a cabin out in an area without electricity. A million $ idea, you're welcome.

YOU can use a specific solder just for aluminum metal. The flux is also different but works with aluminum Sir. My next question to you fella. How often does the motor come with Aluminum magnet wire from the manufacture Sir ??? What is the code for motor with aluminum wire ?? Thanks

They use aluminum to save money. Works just fine and code does not apply here. They just need to stay within the wire and former dissipation limits. We use a boat load of aluminum wire in the electrical trades and it's perfectly safe.

This is a 3 phase permanent magnet motor. It is simply a scaled up version of the very same used in all the latest brushless tools. They are driven by purpose built VFD and are very efficient.

I don't know what you are talking about with the aluminum not being solderable. Superior flux and manufacturing makes both flux and solders specifically for the task. I have used them in the past and they are spectacular at wetting and forming fillets in the area of junctions. Superior 1260 or 1261 flux and their matching tin zinc alloy solder and you never need worry again. Also, charging a car battery at minimum RPM? LOL! You need more than minimum RPM for that. The unit you have there to regulate the variable output of the generator is called a buck/ boost converter. What you will actually want is a battery charger that accommodates various battery chemistries and incorporates MPPT to optimize the energy harvested from the generator unit regardless of RPM and voltage output.

Motors like this were first developed by fisher and paykel in New Zealand in the 1990s. They have been used in NZ made top loader washing machines for 30 years. F and P was bought out by Haier in 2012 and these direct drive motors are used in some Haier machines. Looks like LG have licensed/borrowed the technology.

It should be noted that any interface between copper and aluminum wire is a hazard which can oxidize and create a fire risk. Such junctions should be avoided!

Likely around 170VDC after rectification but could be allot more depending on the rectifier configuration. If it is a voltage doubler it could reach 340VDC.
