That's pretty fascinating and a very interesting perspective to the game. I've realised that Lil Majin does something similar, he uses the threat of King's df2 and the counter-hit "Shove" to not only keep his opponents honest but also to set up King's devastating throw game.

This video deserves so many more views. A lot of work must have gone into collecting that move usage data, compiling it into charts and by extension creating a thorough analysis. I don’t think I have seen any other video do this, kudos.

This was pretty dope. I was following Anakin for a while and learned a ton from his channel and watching him play. Then I got to meet and chill with Anakin a little with Renoface and Fear at East Coast Throwdown earlier this year. Really cool dude with solid advice. Easily one of my favorite players. Hearing more of his insight on the neutral and how he chooses to place ff1 or db1 is so helpful. Awesome content. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Jack is not a low tier character in Tekken 6 and 7.

Jack is lower mid tier and while his combos don’t require much execution, his lack of crushes and cheesy moves in general make him very difficult to take into higher than red / ruler ranks. What Anakin does with this character is very impressive, and Jack’s DF2 is -14 I think? Maybe at tip range it can be hard to punish but you should be a good judge of that and not just mash into him after he does it

Jack-7 is everything but low tier though. He was mid tier at worst but is already back to being A tier, according to many experienced players. Jack always has been good since T6. He might be a bit too honest despite his d/b+1 and FC d/b+1, that's why many say that he still has to work too hard to be at the top

Jack is not low tier. db1 is one of the best lows in the game: i12, 15 damage, +2 on hit. And Jackhammer is a safe 45 damage mid with good range, solid tracking and pushback on block. And the oki got improved in 5.0. And f2 is a i10 CH tool that does 52 damage. And he has two safe lows for oki (no low parry possible on tech roll). Very good at round end. Bur he can’t step. That’s why I play Alisa nowadays :)

In season 4/post-season 4, he kind of is, mainly because of the addition of more broken DLC characters and the buffing of other characters. Jack’s pretty much stuck in his old season 2 phase while other characters have changed drastically.

Jack is slow AF and very predictable. Worst character in t7 along with Eddie. Dont use him unless you're Anakin.

Predictible gameplan maybe, but its still working at the highest level, because he has reach, one of the easiest to use and effective whiff punishers in the game (df+2) and he can mix you up so well (safe low FCdb+1, safe mid ff+1), so who cares. Jack is definitly not slow AF. He has a decent i10 CH tool in f+2 and db+1 is a i12 low.
