17 Hispanic Americans received the MOH in WW2. The 1st Hispanic American recipient received the MOH in the Civil War for capturing the confederate flag of the 19th Virginia regiment during the battle of Gettysburg . Many Americans who probably deserved the MOH did not receive it because it requires going through a lot of red tape. Though some prejudice might have happened in his case, I think it had more to do with him saving enemy soldiers & not following orders then him being Hispanic . And his medal was upgraded .. He was 1 of 25 Hispanics to receive the Navy Cross in WW2.

This might be the reason why almost all old school buildings here in the Philippines specially in Luzon areas were name "Gabaldon building" after his Name during WW ll.

Awe. I'd hoped so. It wasn't: Sabani to Gabaldon by virtue of Republic Act 1318, to honor former provincial governor and Philippine Resident Commissioner Isauro Gabaldón

Congratulations, Edward, Aiden, Cody, Jed and Shane. Hell to Eternity is one of my favourite movies and it was very interesting to watch your video on the real-life of Guy Gabaldon. I know how hard you and your teacher would have worked to produce this video as I worked with some students to make a video about children of the Holocaust. You truly deserved your $1000!

Always that ubiquitous crap (pathetic) music put too loud that make it hard to listen the narration which in this case it's made difficult to begin with because it is carried on by kids. The music these days is really begining to became a real damnation, since it is forced everywhere.

What is the deal with using young children to narrate this video? If you wanted to make it irritating and hard to listen too. Mission accomplished. And as if that wasn't enough, you had to stick in a section is another language other than English. It's a shame, I think you had an important message here, but you threw away the chance to make an understandable presentation.

Read the description, this video was a project of several 4th graders in Saipan. They did a damn fine job.

Just children doing a school project to honor a man. Not everything is going to be the history channel. You are dumb ass and a disgrace.

I think that you need to take some english classes considering that you misunderstood the central point of Gabaldon's entire accomplishment, i.e., his use of a language other than english, which resulted in his successful capture of 1,500 Japanese prisoners. If Gabaldon had only been a monolingual english speaker we would've never heard of the "Pied Piper of Saipan".
