We do this and camp on the big island, which is one of the first, if not the first you come across. There's a nice, open clearing on the island that can comfortably house several tents

Thanks so much for this! I’m planning my very first kayak camping trip, and it’s this exact route. I was nervous about finding a spot and any portages so I feel much better after watching this.

Just stumbled upon your channel and this video, thanks for the awesome information! I was planning a day trip for next week along this stretch for 2 kayaks and a canoe. We were gonna haul some picnic gear and a cooler in the canoe and stop somewhere for a shore lunch. Seems like this stretch of the river is fairly suitable for beginners? I have experience on lakes but not so much on rivers. From watching your videos, doesn’t seem like there are too many log jams or crazy currents to worry about? Cheers, Noah

Right. Not too much in hazards to watch out for. The biggest issue is just making sure you don't bite off more than you can chew in terms of mileage

It sux after Louis point in Millington I don't know where there is another canoe launch. The other day we had to get off at the Sheridan bridge which I highly do not recommend.

Thanks for the info I’ll be looking to take a ride one of these days. Have you ever fished on this part of the river?

Is camping along the river expected to be stealth camping, or is it OK to make a fire?

All private property in this area, so used your best discretion

how do you find out what is private/public property?
@Jtracyfilm3 жыл бұрын
In advance, there is not really a good way to do it. On the water, private property will be marked by signs that say no trespassing.
