This video is the most important I have seen. I’m a single figure handicapper yet I still have the odd day where I’m suffering with major shanks or weak right shots. This video has completely eradicated that. Thanks Chris!

Same here. Struggled with it for awhile, went back and watched some DTL videos of myself from my best ball striking days and noticed my hands were much lower at address.

People tell me I hold my hands and the club handle too low at address, but I feel this helps me draw the ball. Is there a point of reference where the club handle should point such as belt buckle or bellybutton? Thanks.

My high hands caused heel shots and shanks. Lowered my hands and to my joy dead center hits.

There's another good reason many weekend hackers have higher hands.... they dont have the hand/forearm strength to keep the club from straightening out their wrist angles well before impact, thus producing very fat shots. They're using higher hands because if they didn't, they wouldn't hit the ball at all.

Chris, you state that the hands should be lower but the question is how? Given that the left arm is straight and right elbow tucked in (two pivot points) that pushes the hands away from the body (another of your videos) so what gives? Knees bent more? Left shoulder lower? Right hip back?

For me, I was too steep after transition and would compensate by thrusting hips towards the ball and standing up which necessitated raising the handle. I think it is usually a reaction to actions earlier in the downswing such as in my case above. I realized that in order to achieve lower hands I had to shallow my transition and then be sure my left hip stayed back away from the ball. I started hitting hooks left but fixed that by making sure I kept turning through impact. Basically you need to discover why you are coming in too steep. For me it was the club steepening during transition but for you it could be different. Video helps a lot in diagnosing this factor. Hope that helps.

1). The swing thought is low to high. This causes me to have my hands low at impact and high at the finish, 2) I have cast Calloways and was told at the PGA superstore that they can’t change the lie angle because of the liability for breakage. I need forged heads. 3) Can you make a video about where the butt of the club should be pointing at full backswing. I noticed I am killing it with longer clubs if my backswing is flatter because I am further from the ball. This may explain why I normally am spot on with anything under a 7 but struggle with7+. This weekend I experimented with a flat swing with longer clubs and killed it.

Chris I actually think this should be the first lesson in golf . “Think high instead of straight”. It certainly works wonders for me. Now that I think high , as a swing thought, immediately that fixes my posture because you can’t hit a high shot standing upright and with your hands high. At least for my irons that is working perfectly

Can u do a vid on driver setup and how to setup to have your path meeting the ball more square vs closing and naturally swing around the body when it picks up the forward ball position. My mid n short n wedges are pure but as soon as the ball is fwrd in stance I'm inconsistent. Hope u understand the question. Ty!

When I hit bombs I feel like I have closed shoulders but can't repeat it enough. Not sure if I should start the path on the inside more or straight back at first until I lift into back swing.

"why is this an issue" ... because the club was not designed to be used this way. The English drive me insane ... why do they massively, massively use 10 words (10 sentences, 10 paragraphs, 10 mins on KZbin), when one would do. "That'll do pig" ... maybe not all Brits are blabby, but have yet to see it when it comes to gof instruction
