I'm an ex Brummie (lifelong Aston Villa fan) now living near Elgin and follow the Black and Whites at home but when they play away I go and watch a game in the Highland League. I watched Linfield play at Buckie Thistle in an earlier round and thoroughly enjoyed it, Buckie really should have won that game, especially as Linfield were reduced to 10 men but all credit to the Linfield boss, David Healy who's bold substitutions changed the game to their advantage. I love the idea of team's from Wales and Northern Ireland (and England in past year's) entering this competition, it certainly adds something different from the norm, and who doesn't like a bit of friendly inter country rivalry!

If Linfield are to progress as a football club, they, like other clubs in NI, need to broaden their horizons and regularly test themselves against stronger opposition. Obvious step towards that goal is an All Ireland(or All island) league.
