Really good and helpful video. I'm an ex/phys and also someone who had constant ankle sprains as a young athlete.. that I would continue to play in if st all possible. Now my ankles are less likely to sprain, though I've had a few breaks.. I'll be working on them forever.. this video makes sense out of a lot of mental questions

What shoes was Dr. Cohen wearing? They look comfortable, breath well, look good and, I assume, good support for your feet?

A major problem with the exercise prescription is injury. Nobody seems to talk about it bc there really are no good solutions. Surgery is expensive, inconvenient, painful and depends highly on the skill of the surgeon. Many people are worse off after orthopedic surgery. PT is largely quackery. There’s no convincing science behind it and it’s impossible to measure it’s effectiveness experimentally. From there there’s nothing else but a sea of expensive quackery: supplements, Wobenzym, prolotherapy, PRP, lasers etc it’s all bullshit. The conversation basically stops at injury . For every 10,000 videos or articles about exercise (programs, advice, importance of) there is probably 1 addressing the massive elephant in the room, which is injury.

Injury prevention and rehab is actually relatively straightforward if you're young. As you get older, you should still be exercising, but intensity & volume should be adjusted.

@@danyalraza4388 there isn’t anything “straightforward” about soft tissue damage. Survivorship bias and is straightforward and your’s is on full display. I guess the millions of people who are injured in sports each year just didn’t “make adjustments”.

@@RM-jb2bv What are you talking about? Millions of people get injured? Majority of people, barring extreme forms of injury, can rehab just fine from most sports-related overuse injuries. Like... Just recover and build strength back up? At the most extreme ends of sports, the propensity for injury can get higher, so just adjust the volume. The average 25 year old can easily recover from most soft tissue damage with minimal long-term impact. I've had many minor aches and pains in my 20s from weightlifting, and guess what? I just took a break, kept getting stronger and now they're gone.

Just because you have an injury that stops you from being able to perform a sport at the highest level (like an achiles injury in the NBA), doesn't mean that your physical condition from having played those sports doesn't put you in way better health than a sedentary person of equivalent age.
