this is by far one of my favorite trickle covers of all time, i think. the translyrics are purely flawless, and perfect for his voice; the delivery, the low whispers at parts, the growl, the merging of “lower your eyes” just flows so well and his voice has such insane emotion. i love all the other youtaites deeply, but no other cover i’ve heard has done this song as much justice as this one. so perfect.

You know, I had no idea this song was about the betrayal of Judas, I just thought it was some story about a gay couple in the past or something like that lol. Idk, it just felt like there was some romantic undertones in the art.

Hahahaha, I did at first too XD Yeah, the romance is a play on the source material. The story this is based on, called "An Urgent Appeal", is based on the Biblical story but has some creative liberties taken. For example, Judas is obsessed with Jesus's beauty and doesn't believe in the afterlife or that he's the son of God, he just is obsessed with Him and wants to be His everything in a psychotic way. His idolization turns into hatred and then he is okay with selling him out and getting him killed. It's an interesting read and there is a free link in the description! It's a pretty good Japanese to English translation!

It’d be weird if the song was based on a Bible story (or any story that isn't related to Project Sekai) since the commissioned songs for character focus events are always linked to the event story. Your translation is the only one I've seen that put in so many religious references, every other translation I've read fits with Hermit's story i.e. Mizuki's fear that their friends will eventually leave them and being afraid to get too close and be open about their identity, while Ena tries to break through that wall and convince Mizuki that she really cares about them and wants to stay together no matter what. I love your vocals in this though, your voice is fantastic as always.

Theres so many meanings in the visuals of the song, like 0:42 the witch girl is depicted as a vase of Lilies Of The Valley, which is one of Jesus's many names. Also at 0:50 (ish) the girl is shown helping a sick woman, she also wears the Christian fish earring. At 1:30 you can see a wine glass and plate, which im going to assume is from the Last Supper. Especially at 3:20 the exchange from Judas with the Pharasies; 30 pieces of silver for Jesus to be crucified. It sounded so good in your voice, it almost had a whispery tone in the verses which I really liked, almost like you were telling a secret, then in the bridge the strength and borderline roughness gave me a feeling of desperation, and all of the different vocal techniques you used came through and I was impressed!
