'Lower your gaze' | Shaykh Muhammad Mukhtar Ash-Shinqitee

May Allah help every brother and sister who is trailed by temptations around him or her.
SubhanAllah, Allah has given shaykh Muktar a lot of wisdom. In answering the question he didn't cite the idea of marriage even once or make a reference to it. (In my humble opinion) I think it's because that will not stop someone from lowering their gaze since many married individuals still do so. The problem lies in the person himself and to rid of its habit (just like any other sin), it requires crying and asking for help from the Most Merciful with the utmost sincerity!

My dear brothers and sisters! A very usful thing to do to avoid looking at haram thing, beside lowering one's gaze and praying, is FASTING. Believe me, it destroys your desires and you will take you away from committing haram acts. Fast, my dear brothers and sister, because it is the best cure for lowering your gaze. (There is also a Hadith about this)

Start out with once or twice a week and then increase as much as you like. But don't fast everyday without pause because that's not sunnah anymore

@@shum0013 it is zina indeed.because there is a hadith that the zina of eyes is to look,,,and moreover it is haram. See sura nur ayat 31 or 32 probably... Jajakallahu khairan brother
