A quick raw video of the clearance I have within the wheel wells since I had the car lowered on Bilstein B16 Damptronic coil overs.

Thanks for the video! It gave me confidence to keep my current ride height on my H&R springs. How is your camber? Are you concerned about hitting your oil pan with your current height?

Thank you, glad you found value from it. Hitting the oil pan was not a concern. It’s was not something the mech that worked on it had raised. I have since traded the car in. Another beast is in the garage 😃😃

Nice look Bro, keep posting 👌🏾 I have a very similar setup but I added the dsc module and went with 19x10s (on the front) with 265/30 series tires. I have vented fenders to add a wee bit more clearance. Haven’t finished the whole process yet but will when I get a break in work

Thats amazing. How was the ride with the DSC, I hear it changes it dramatically. That was going to be my next mod, but ended up selling the 911 for something else :) Also how was the 19x10 up front?

@@thedevthing the 19x10 is great, a lot of the push is gone and the car feels more planted/stable. I haven’t installed the dsc yet. I’ll report back when I do. ...you sold the 911??? Say it ain’t so 😟 Are you replacing the 911 with something else?

Looks like you are running spacers as well. What did you do front and rear? Also is the ride height shown affected by PASM. Does it go lower with that button on?

Hi there, thank you for the comment. No spacers. It’s not possible with CL wheels. The wheel offset has to be bang on at purchase. Ride height is not adjustable it’s a fixed height. PASM impact compression and rebound on the fly. But with the car lowered more than stock, it’s effect is not very noticeable.

Thank you. It’s much appreciated. The exhaust is the stock sport exhaust from Porsche. This was standard on the 997.2 GTS trim I believe

Did you consider any other brands before installing the Bilstien. and do you get any “bouncing” in the front end or are you able to dial it out?

Yeah I did look at other options, KW, Ohlins etc. But I wanted to waiting the factory sport button and wanted it to be operational. This is great an all, but there were some downsides to lowering as much as I did. We lowered it to achieve a lowered look as a result there was no preload on the system. This made for very harsh ridge. With it properly dialed in with preload, these could are excellent. If I was to do it over again. I would have got something that would allow it to go lower than the stock 20mm drop.

Thank you, nice video. Your stance is great. How did your original ride height compare to the B16s at their factory height setting? I am finishing my 997.2 C4S Damptronic now. Could you estimate how much lower it will sit if I don't adjust the B16 heights?

I didn’t get a chance to measure, but the B16 were as low as the stock suspension with sport PASM which was 20mm lower.

I purchased the exact same set for my C4S, can you share how low was this? How many inches did you lower it for this video?

We didn’t measure exactly unfortunately. We went as low as it would according the mech who installed it. So Low that there was no preload on the perch. It looked great but it created a harsh ride. I say it’s about 25-30mm lower. I had the sport chassis on my GTS it lowers the car 20mm from factory over cars that didn’t have it. So for me the drop was not that much more significant. Apologies for not having the exact measurement. My first time modding a 911 and I got carried away 😂😂

Would you still recommend the B16's for a 997? It'll spend 90% on the street.

It depends. If you want that low slammed look, then no. If you are going for a factory low look from the GTS then the B16 is good. The B16 didn’t allow me to go lower than what I had already with the GTS. We had to push past its limit and the ride was garbage. I would not do it for the extra low look while still being good to drive.

For me a car sits perfect when the gap is even allround, yours are smaller at the top. Also the fact that you have to drive so slow onto your driveway makes me think it's too low. Love the wheels though. I would just go for a milder stance with more usability.
