Looks right to me. I'm not a fan of the super extreme drop and cambered wheels, etc.. I'm really curious about your ride impressions. Does it still feel smooth, or have you lost travel (even with the shorter bump stops). Do you find yourself scraping the ground on things more now? How does it ride compared to stock?

@@matimcfetridge I just finished installing TTRS rear bushings for the front lower control arm. Tightens up the steering a little bit with no noticeable increase in NVH. Pressing out the old and in with the new in the aluminum carrier was a bit of a faff, but you can get *slightly* less performance ones for the S3 that are just a straight swap. It kind of goes halfway to the poly bushings (which i also do not want to do).

@@matimcfetridge yeah tbf the fitment on 8Ps are strange with OEM alloys. Mine are 7.5J ET54, 10mm at front but could’ve gone 15 realistically, and 20mm at the back could’ve gone 25mm or 30 haha. Always use axle stands I've seen people get crushed. The inner strut top has a ring where the gaiter sits in pull bumpstop down and locate the gaiter it stops the socket stanchon gettin g filled with grit and dirt.

Same with my 8P (fuck sake) but it's the 3 door version, they're not Eibach springs by any chance? I heard the different height with the sportback at the front and back though is to do with the body line at the back making the back look lower than it is. Doesn't really make much sense to me, although when I measured mine they were both the same. Spacers do help though too.
@gavinkendig30812 жыл бұрын
the factory lowered spring on my 2017 S-line A3 does the same thing. I did notice even tho the rear looks lower and the front higher, the ground clearance is much smaller at the front lift point than it is in the rear point so there's definitely some positive rake. I got myself some H&R sport springs to hopefully fix it
@esraeloh86816 ай бұрын
I've got a dead left rear spring & 3 other dying coils, that's what I've got, my god you should see the corrosion on the rear subframe right around where those 2 support arms bolt in, holy shit have I got a job on my hands. I took my dads car off him when he retired summer last year, he never did any of his own work on the thing, always just put it into the garage. I don't get it, the simplest preventative maintenance just once 1 year, & all that corrosion could've been completely avoided. Whatever, half the reason I took the thing was to get the chance to work on a car for the first time, & I do have a friend with an entire workshop of tools who also wants to work on another car so even if the structual damage is to extensive fabricating a new part & fitting it isn't even out of the question. Still though, all for want of a little rub down & spray paint just 1 of the years he owned it.... Which actually, I'd be careful about just spraying WD just in there, that stuff can dry out any rubber bellows & such causing them to break down, you really want a silicone lub for them if you want to spray them Edit: Well those rear coils were a piece of piss to swap out And side note, I only have 3 shitty stock Jacks, had, my scizzor jack decided to shed it's threads, & not even taking any real weight, I was just using it to jack up the suspension arm, so it wasn't even taking the weight of the vehicle, it was at that moment I realised all those Jacks have plastic blocks over the threads, so I'm definitely done with them
