You got to love the first time you lower the car off the jack and watch it just keep going. Haha. Looks awesome man! I'm looking forward to doing suspension on my shoebox this winter. These cars look so good slammed.

Nice! I'm going to take over a 49 Custom Fordor project that my dad couldn't finish before he passed. Lowering it like this and rebuilding the flathead will be mandatory! I'll stay tuned!

I have the v8 in my '49. I'm doing these same brackets so we'll see how it goes. Edit...it sucked!!! I had to go in through the spring pocket to get to the nuts. They were between the inner crossmember and spring seat so it was almost impossible to get to them.

Just out of curiosity do you know of any performance intakes and exhaust for the flathead 6?
@minnesotamotors2 жыл бұрын
I know some were made back in the day. I think Red’s headers still sells a header. People also would combine truck and car manifolds for dual exhaust. I’d love to find some for this car someday

thanks for the content have you ever ran into a overheating problem for the inside 6? I can't seem to figure out on mine it has a brand new radiator but I havenchencked the the water pump
@minnesotamotors2 жыл бұрын
I overheated mine a few times before doing the radiator and water pump. It still seems to be a little hot to me. I’d like to build a fan shroud someday
@sonnyskustoms2 жыл бұрын
@@minnesotamotors ya idk why but I ran a few test and nothing gives a pin point answer causing it to overheat, I just took the water pump off and didn't find anything unusual, and the oil isn't milky or anything, unless the radiator cap isn't sealing enough that could be the cause, it's a 4 row aluminum radiator

hey did you have any alignment issues with the lower control arm cuz of it being off and had to force it in? Did you get wear on the outside of your tire? I had the same issue with mine

I hope you're not relying on just a jack to support the car when you're working under it. Use good quality jack stands to support all that weight just to be extra safe in the future. I've never worked on anything underneath with only a jack for support. They have been known to fail.
@minnesotamotors3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your concern. I used jackstands the entire time the car was in the air. They are visible in the video, and I even mentioned removing them when I lowered the car to the ground
