I am in the process of replacing all cabinets in my kitchen with Diamond Now. At first, I was extremely hesitant about anything particle board for a cabinet. But once screwed together and fastened to the walls, it feels solid and good. It sure beats a ridiculous 15k quote from the big box store to have cabinets installed. I am doing cabinets, flooring, paint,lights, and stove for under 6k.
@projecttherapy13512 жыл бұрын
The particle board is definitely strong. The biggest concerns are moisture (particle board expands and deteriorates from water), and surface durability. Sounds like you're going to have a nice enjoyable space for a fraction of what most people would spend!

Thanks for the video. We were looking at the Diamond cabinets at Lowes as it looked nice and supposedly easy maintenance. Why would you not recommend these cabinets? Thanks.
@projecttherapy13513 жыл бұрын
The surface is holding up really well. The hinges and drawer slides aren't the best, but these are one of the cheapest cabinets you can buy, so it's expected. Depending on how level your floors are, you may find that the IKEA rail cabinets are easier to install. I would also like to have soft close on everything, which is usually an option on more expensive cabinets. Thanks for watching. Good luck with your project!

Did you have any trouble installing your crown molding? Did you notice that The cabinets don’t allow enough lip to put the crowning molding on? Just curious or maybe it’s something I’m doing wrong? Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi project therapy. I just bought these diamond now cabinets in the gray color. They are very pretty but I did not realize how cheap they really were until installing them. I hope I get plenty of years out of them.:-) But I did have a question for you. We’ve noticed that they don’t give you enough lip for installing the crown molding any suggestions? Thanks for any advice.
@projecttherapy13513 жыл бұрын
You're right, they do feel pretty cheap. Since installing, we haven't had any durability issues, though. We actually haven't done crown on them, but I can definitely see your concern. Luckily, there is a way! You'll need to install blocking. The lowes site has a page showing how: www.lowes.com/n/how-to/install-kitchen-cabinet-crown-moulding Good luck with your project!

I just bought these for my kitchen remodel. The base corner cabinet says 36" on website and on the box, yet the actual product is 30" across. That's 6" on either side. That is a huge discrepancy. Has anyone that used this product have a similar issue?
@projecttherapy1351 Жыл бұрын
It sounds like you received the wrong item. I can't imagine a discrepancy like that occurring on the correct product. I would talk to Lowe's about a replacement.

Please respond to my comment Do you think $20k it is a lot for cabinet Diamond cabinets including installation
@projecttherapy1351 Жыл бұрын
That does sound expensive, but it definitely depends on the size of kitchen, if old cabinets have to be removed, your location, etc. I would guess that installation would cost about the same as the cabinets themselves (very rough estimate!). I generally do my own work though, so I'm not the best at estimating labor costs. Perhaps some other viewers will have a better idea of labor costs. Good luck with your project!

Just came across this video because I bought the same cabinets from Lowe's. I was wondering if you remember what under cabinet lighting you used? I want to do mine the same way with under and over cabinet lights on a dimmer.
@projecttherapy13512 жыл бұрын
I don't remember the exact lights, but they are LED strips that run to a unit on top of the cabinets and plug into a standard outlet. I made sure to buy 2 sets that could be synced to a single remote. I believe they were from Home Depot.

Did you put plywood on the cabinets before installing the quartz?
@projecttherapy13513 жыл бұрын
Nope! that's not needed. However, I do have a 2x4 running along the wall behind the dishwasher that's level with the cabinets in order to support the counter over that span. You can see that at 4:38 in the video.

@@sheaadams1784 Thanks for adding that information! I'm used to working on slab foundations, I didn't realize pier and beam required plywood. Makes sense though! The cabinets look nice for sure! it would be nice to have soft close doors though. I'm beginning to think granite is the way to go. It really doesn't require much maintenance and it handles heat better than quartz. Plus, at least in our area, it was cheaper than quartz! Merry Christmas!

I'm in the same predicament. I live in an area where I'm doubtful that I can find an installer familiar with Ikea cabinets. My GC is suggesting Menards, Home Depot, or Lowe's. There are no reviews on Menards cabinetry and the Home Depot and Lowe's reviews are pretty bad. Because this is such a MAJOR expense, I don't want to make a huge mistake.

The Cabinets were $2,300, hardware was another hundred or so. Any reason why you WOULDNT buy these cabinets again?
@projecttherapy13512 жыл бұрын
These are decent for the price, but there are a couple reasons why I think a higher budget on cabinets would be worth while: 1. No soft close hinges. I'm sure they could be upgraded, but getting them stock would have been nice. IKEA has options at a fair price, but my town doesn't have an IKEA. 2. They're really just particle board, and the doors are thin. Again, I'm happy for the price, but if you could get into some low-end solid wood options then there are many benefits to be had. Easier installation, less prone to water damage, thicker doors, less likely for hinge screws or hinges to break loose, etc... Good luck!
