Thanks for this video. How do you set up your mic. Would your mic audio come from your OBS or would it come from Ableton?
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
I set it up on a separate channel in OBS, so I can process it without affecting the DAW audio. I don’t have it running through Ableton.
@Mixedbydavey Жыл бұрын
When OBS records, does it mix the mic and the Ableton output together? I keep getting them mixed as one embedded into the video. How can I have 2 audio stems? One for Ableton out and one for mic?
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
@@Mixedbydavey Yes, they are recorded mixed in the same file. I don't know if it's possible to record them separately. There's an OBS plugin called Source Record that lets you record different video sources to different output files, but I don't know if that applies to audio as well.
@Deerob Жыл бұрын
Hi, would you happen to know of a method that does what you do here but also incorporates yet another stereo pair of I/O for say, a analogue mastering chain? I use cubase and created a hardware insert (2ch in, 2ch out) and I would need to record these changes I make on the hardware in OBS too. But even with Blackhole 16ch i seem to get only 2I/O. 🤷♂️
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
OBS on Mac doesn't see the separate inputs of an audio interface. All the inputs are recorded together and there's no way to separate them. Not sure I understand your use case 100% so let me know if this answered your question.

Hi there! Thank you so much for this video. It was so helpful. It worked! You don't know how much trouble I had trying to record my screen using OBS... I noticed an "Encoder Preset" setting in the output section. If you have that option now on OBS, what did you set that option on?
@LowHeatBeats2 жыл бұрын
Glad it helped! The encoder preset is set to "veryfast" but if you have a powerful computer you can try "fast" or "faster" and see if it improves the quality of your recording.

That is really helpful. Thanks. But I have problems with delay when recording from my webcam. The voice is rather much delayed from the video. How can I fix that 😁
@LowHeatBeats2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Usually the video is delayed and not the audio. But if that's the case, right click on your video source, choose Filters and in the Effect filters section you can add a Render Delay. Then experiment with the amount of delay and set it so that it lines up with your audio.
@peterkroman2 жыл бұрын
@@LowHeatBeats You are right of course. It is the video that is delayed. Can I fix that too? And it also seems that the video quality is rather poor. I use a 2K webcam and a MAC mini with 16 GB RAM.

@@peterkroman I don't know why you're getting bad video quality, there could be many reasons. But to fix the sync, go to Edit - Advanced Audio Properties and set Sync Offset for your audio source to delay it.

I use Cubase on Mac and I’m unable to have independent input and output devices. I can send the DAW audio out if I have the virtual device selected but I can’t do any input recording (instruments etc.) while recording.
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
Oops replied from the wrong account. Yeah, some DAWs don't allow that. It's a bummer. I think as of Mac OS Ventura there's another, built-in option to capture system audio, you might want to investigate if that would allow you to use inputs in Cubase while capturing the audio.
@denidennoi16 күн бұрын
@@LowHeatBeats @MrEffectify , Cubase and Ableton user here!. You can fix this by creating an Aggregate Device in Audio MIDI Setup instead of a Multi-Output Device. This combines the inputs/outputs of your sound card and BlackHole into one device. then In Cubase Select that aggregate deviec as audio driver, then use Control Room to manage it: Send output 1/2 to BlackHole (so OBS can capture it). Use output 3/4 for monitoring (your sound card's outputs). This way, you can hear your session while recording and sending audio to OBS. Just make sure you understand the Control Room setup, it’s straightforward once you try it. Hope this helps guys.

when you change the output to multiple outputs. it wont let me change the inputs of my tracks anymore.@@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats10 ай бұрын
@@bloomingbeats1318 I assume this is because Pro Tools doesn't allow you to have different audio devices for input and output like Ableton Live does. In Live you can use the Multiple output device as an output and your regular audio interface as input, so recording works fine. I've never used Pro tools so I can't confirm this 100% percent but this is the most likely reason.

@LowHeatBeats20 күн бұрын
Are you sure you selected the multi-output audio device as an output in Live? But yeah, for a complex interface like the Apollo Twin there may be some other things that you have to setup in its own routing software. That's why I prefer simpler interfaces like my MOTU M4 which has no routing software and everything is straight forward.
