They already said why he lost his power in KH4. In Re:Mind one of the warnings Chirithy gave is that when Sora vanishes from this world for abusing the Power of Waking is him losing all his powers. That's what happened when he brought Kairi back.

It's weird when Sora starts off with a lot of abilities in KH3 but not in KH2? He was still stronger than when he woke up from his year long memory restoration sleep in KH2. Not to mention, even though he had help from Donald, Goofy, and Hercules, he still beat Disney's version of the 3 Titans which counts for something. Whereas in KH2, he was worn down a lot after a few minutes of fighting the Dusks for the first time. Honestly, I fail to see how it's weird as long as it's not even 25% of the full list of abilities you can equip.

​​@@sul_9999 It definitely feels much better to start off with abilities like Dodge Roll, Air Slide, Guard, and Scan. That's what I hate about 1 and 2, you have to unlock them instead of having them at the start. Scan - Looking at someone's HP is just a game mechanic anyway, so why lock that away behind a Leveling wall? Dodge Roll - It's a maneuver ability, being able to dodge attacks much better than just using the typical walk/run controls. Guard - It's just an ability that let's you block attacks, again stupid that you have to unlock it instead of having it at the start of the game. Air Slide - I can't complain about this one because it wasn't around until BBS, you've always had one of them at the start of those games.

@@leonmystique9372 We can't exactly add Air Slide when we're talking about KH2 since Sora hasn't learned how to do it until Dream Drop Distance, Re:Coded if you count Data Sora. Air Slide hasn't been a thing until BBS anyway. As for Dodge Roll, I feel like it would've been better to have at the beginning, first visit to Hollow Bastion at best. I feel like it's better to have than to stick with the typical walk/run maneuver. It's not like Dodge Roll is a Superhuman feat anyway, there's a lot of fictional characters who don't have Superhuman agility that can do a barrel roll in order to dodge shit that'll tell you otherwise. Besides, if I could rewrite the gameplay of KH2 I have it so you'd have Level 1 of Dodge Roll and then you can get the other 2 Levels through upgrading Limit Form. Getting those abilities at the start was one of things that KH3 did better than KH2, not that I'm saying that 3 is better: - Dodge Roll - Air Slide: Again that didn't appear until BBS, plus it was a good substitute until you get Glide - Scan - Guard

In KH3, not all of Sora's powers are completely gone. He still retains some of his powers, plus, new ones like Flowmotion, which is confirmed to be a Sora only thing; and a byproduct of him spending so much time in the Sleeping Worlds post DDD. As for KH4, my theory is that Sora may not lose all his powers right there, but maybe that staying in this "unrealistic" realm is somehow affecting his powers. Not just his abilities, but ALL his powers overall. If you look closely in that trailer, you can notice that while Sora is running to go fight that Darkside, it looks as if he's struggling to even summon the keyblade in his hands, meaning that this realm is taking an effect on him, and if he stays here for too long, he might lose all his powers entirely

Yep because Quadratum’s hyper realistic, meaning magic wouldn’t survive in that world if you stay there for too long. The reason why a place like Port Royal wouldn’t fall under Quadratum while something like the MCU (of course depending on the timing) would is because the supernatural is very present there. I wouldn’t be surprised if Atlantis or Star Wars would be a bridge between Quadratum and the world we’d been playing in up until this point. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the machine we saw in KH1 and Ux would be a factor too.

As Roxas and Sora were never meant to be one so when Roxas became a part of him, Sora's hair got some blond, and Roxas could see everything Sora saw and would influence him in tiny ways. The point is it wasn't really Sora. You guys just forgot but KH1 Sora and Re-Com are literally Sora's personality not KH2 that's just Sora's personality with Roxas occasionally interfering and then final form is Roxas and Sora both in control of the body simultaneously. By the way in Days it's established that Roxas was around before castle oblivion and in the light novels which Nomura was involved in where he included every day in their entirty including non playable one's with character inner monologs. It is revealed that Roxas falling into a coma was actually the piece of Ven attached to Sora calling Roxas's soul to the station of connections to protect Ven and Sora as well as those connected to him. So all the people Sora remembered after floor 12 and the deterioration of their memories slowing was because of Roxas but Roxas could only save those connections because Sora wouldn't stop moving so the corruption would find Roxas through the half of Ven that had attached itself to him when it summoned him there which by the way is why Roxas's hair is more blond in the end half of days and prolog of 2 compared to DDD 2.8FM and KH3. Also, fun fact, I think either in the chain Ultimania or light novel Sora describes his strange dreams as him in places he's been before but with a black blob with glowing eyes that he would see which is what appears on the bottom ds screen in the days mission before Sora enters castle oblivion and Roxas's body falls into a coma. Also contrary to belief Roxas has another Oathkeeper and it has a red and blue good luck charm which Xion made for him but he only got after she ☠️, making it a red and blue with hints of white Oathkeeper however the model is a ds one. Although there is a model in KH3 but they put a number next to it making the game swap it out with Sora's causing it to be accidentally unused and oblivion is Xion's keyblade it's just an artificial keyblade that masked itself as a Kingdom key which as you know he revealed both his and her keyblades true forms on the 358th day. However, he obtained oblivion 2 days after she ☠️ while fighting a big heartless and trying to block with both hands, which he then swapped his keyblade to his domaint left and her's to his right hand. I really love the symbolism of days keyblade names, Oathkeeper, an Oath to never forget that she exist, Oblivion because Xion was made in Castle Oblivion and so was the keyblade she wielded, Adubad in french it is a song about two lovers who see each other at sunset one last time before they say goodbye forever with a fruitless wish of seeing each other again. I could go on, but I already went to off topic sorry about that. The point is Sora is a pretty emotional guy. You all just confuse stupidity with being emotional. When everyone ☠️ to the heartless tornado, he was overwhelmed because he just saw Donald sacrifice himself with the dark magic Zetta Flare a few minutes beforehand. Sora, despite maturing, is still that kid from the island who asked Riku if he'd protect him like a brother. If all his friends are ☠️ ya know his courage, then yeah, he's gonna babble like a baby. The darkness can't consume him if his friends are okay because they lead him back to the light hence Rage form being a thing he can control. Nothing gets Sora down as long as everyone he cares about, and Kairi is okay, but if their not, then he crumbles hard. Roxas is the mature one, but he's also no hero because he'd trade everything to save the people he cares about, but Sora tries to save everyone.

The girl in the apartment in the trailer is actually a lost(dead) Keyblade Master from Union X. Also Ventus is older than you think. He actually fought in the Keyblade War. And the creature in the final world was his Chirithy(a personification of a keyblade wielder's heart). Just thought I'd throw that gem in since i was talking about the war 😊

The way I like looking at the difference of power in sequel games is not that they are any weaker per say, but that the enemies they face in the sequel are just that much stronger and it's easier and makes more sense to just start over at level 1 again instead of starting out at a previous maximum level with a new maximum now attainable.

Nah, there are games that try to make it make sense. Like in Trails of Cold Steel 2 everyone didn't start at level 1 since it was a continuation of the story. Same thing happened in 4 going from 3, and in 3 none of the characters started at level 1 since no one was a beginner. Some developers do try to put in the effort to make the levels of characters make sense.

@@DataHayseed IIRC, they explained that Pikachu gets "reset" because his electricity is so incredibly powerful that he has to readjust to the new electrical current/charge (or whatever mumbo jumbo terms they used)of the new region. If he weren't supercharged, it wouldn't even be an issue. I mean, Pikachu very nearly EXPLODED because of this. It straight up would've killed him. That means he has to take it VERY slowly in every new region so he doesn't kill himself.

It’s because sora used the power of waking too freely in KH3. It’s stated time and Time again he could lose his powers in the process. I know KH is convoluted for no other reason than to be convoluted but that much you could understand in KH3 despite it being vastly inferior to KH2 and even BBS in some aspects

For KH4, if I remember right, it’s stated in Remind that as part of Sora being stranded in Quadratum, he’d lose his powers (including the power of waking) before he went off to save Kairi.

One small thing i noticed from CoM, when he first catches the card thrown at him he does it almost immediately, no fumbling or surprise, which he wouldnt be able to do if at that point his powers were turned to cards. So i think they took his knowledge and powers yes, but not the muscle memory associated with his experiences.

In Kingdom Hearts 2, it was noted by Mickey that Sora was actually stronger than in KH1 (and de facto chain of memories)... So lower level Sora is better than KH1 Lvl 50 Sora (I feel that's probably the canon level). So level quality probably matters as well...

One detail about recom people don't notice as much is that soras starting hp is 80 which is around the point you'd be at in the endgame of kh1 showing it was just his memories and skills that were taken away and not his actual strength which is also why you can't boost his attack without using different weapon cards
