You can take riskier moves when you know you've got 5k minerals over your opponent and can therefore afford it.

Zerg wins, not Serral. It could sound ridiculous, but if the SC1 was pretty well balanced in terms of each race's abilities, SC2 is unbalanced as hell in favor of Zerg: vision, map control, static defense, mobility, casters etc. The most versatile, the best unit in the game that brings a tons into the victory - did you know what unit it is? Its queen. Bam. Not a Battlecruiser, not a Carrier or Tempest. Just damn queens doing so much that even if Zerg builds 10-15 of them and looses couple, that and only that unit is responsible for how the zerg players getting insane value in comparison with T and P. It tough, it armored, it shoots up, it can heal, and finally, it increases larvae production! IMO no unit in game have such a huge list of advantages. Even the move speed - on creep it outruns half of the non-zerg units!

Protoss need these upgrades : mothership needs dark hole, templar psystorm need their upgrade to regen shield, zealot need whirlwind, static defense need monolith tower canon things, void rays need the alarak upgrade to do AOE, immortals need shadow canon ability, corsair to replace pheonix and DT with AOE damage ability and detection prevention ability. Zerg need these changes : infestor shroud need to be changed to be a lesser version of the sc1 defiler, Neuro parasite should make sens what it can infest (lowko size video), fungal only affect ground for the slow maybe damage air, vypers need their pull ability revised to be more realistic on scale (again size video from Lowko), BroodLord's need to be replaced by sc1 guardians, branch evolution for hydralisks the impaler, roach no more evolution but slow ability and ultralisks need their charge ability.

Neh, Serral knew exactly what to do the entire match, he was testing what voids and tempests can do in the hands of a competent player. I mean c'mon. He wiped the entire map clean of protos and still ended up with a bank big enough to rebuild an army and a half all the while ensuring that Neeb just does not have the production capacity even if he miscalculated his bank. And then there is the supply block, just put a shiny little sherry on top.

Yes, it is a demonstration of how late game Z crushes late game P simply by slowly expanding and surrounding the opponent with creep and static defense. Maybe an impatient player would have lost by suiciding into the maxed fleet but even then Z can remax more quickly.

Epic, probably the best game I have seen in SC2 (watching it more than a year later for the first time, can’t believe I missed it till now lol). And Serral managing to stay cold blooded thinking and efficient until the end despite the fatigue is really mind blowing. GG both, standing ovation indeed 👌 SC2 is definitely the best MP strategy game ever for me. Even compared to EVE online or the 4x games from Paradox like EU4, Stellaris and so on, and definitely against others RTS games (there it’s even more obvious)… seeing pro players perform on SC2 is just something else, it’s amazing. And DeepMind is also not that bad with time. At least that was a lot more convincing to see her potential while playing SC2 than in games like Go or chess, etc. AI also was pretty impressive, but nowhere near these guys like Serral, Maru, Scarlet, Innovation and many more. That’s a real pleasure to see, truly. and many thx Lowko for the entertainment as well, it always has something more when you comment these games :D Great video, hope to see more games like this one again 👍👍👍 ++

I absolutely love the chess match that is late game. My favorite way to watch/play starcraft. I love seeing Serral use the lings to guerilla down Neeb's base, it's clear that he is thinking about how to use all the options available to him to win [getting all the buildings if a fight goes sour, or if Neeb moves out.] If you have more buildings all over the map like Serral and the faster army comps [as Zerg], you should even be able to split off small amounts from your main army to efficiently take out the edges [like he's done before with lurkers]. Neeb should leave a carrier above the edge bases, then Serral responds by sending in a handful of corrupts etc. And of course, you're also using your superior mineral bank as Serral to move static "def" closer to the front line, or by your hatches, or even surround or something.

What Idra said was right at that time. Protoss was overpowered (and was nerfed later). His problem was that he thought he could make a change and that the community doesnt consist of only idiots. People dont unterstand balance, they only cry for their own race. So if someone like Idra, who actually unterstood the real balance problems (as we knew later), tries to change something, he had to deal with the idiot army first . It like in real life. The majority is wrong most of the time.

@Lowko Cool point about how Z v P are a lot more static defense heavy compared to Terran games, but Terrans do have nukes! I like how tempests now actually have a good anti-static-defense option. I guess for zerg it would be Broodlords. Maybe need to give Broodlords back their range?? perhaps tweak their "attack" speed or something, so that whilst they can push, its very very slow, kind of like Terran siege tank slow push, or tempest slow push.

Great game! Neeb needed to be harassing like Serral was. Imagine a dozen or so waves of a dozen zealots running into the back of Serral's base. Neeb had no win condition after the 30 minute mark. All that said, much closer final fight than I expected.
