It will never not be shocking to me that people exist out there who play this game enough to get to ranked platinum, play like this, and seemingly have never seen a professional game of starcraft ever. It's just a free for all, do whatever and you might win. Conventions? Out the window. I feel like if I started playing I'd basically lose trying to do strategies that pros do because that's clearly the correct way to play, so this always surprises me.

Pro build are difficult to do and at this level you don't realize why they work and what's important etc. You can play like a baboon, stay in metal leagues for some time and develop some understanding of the basic strats in the game

What throws me off is that even if the APM rate is high, I am really wondering where it's being spent. I mean it's great for silver league to have 100+ APM, but if it's just useless action, it doesn't serve any purpose. But in the end, very entertaining video, loved it

as someone who proxy hatched in platinum I recognize the attempt but man :( im just sad he didnt use his queens. One of the best things about proxy hatch is the queens, inject or tumor but do something. I've won entire games off tumoring the other side of the map, its a massive waste of time for a little apm. It makes me a little sad inside when I see even professional cast games just not spreading creep when they are microing units on the same screen

League size shouldn't be measured by MMR range (although that's also interesting as it indicates skill range), but by the number of people in it. The MMR would ideally follow a Gaussian distribution, and if platinum is in the middle of that, it could have a small range, but many people.

i think lowko got so rocked about these plays he started to regress in his commentating skills, it was kinda funny. but yeah those plays looked very odd, but then again i guess lower leagues is a lot of hail mary attacks that are poorly managed and the cheesiest tactics you can think of is employed but typically in a horrible way. but all that aside it's probably more nerve wrecking than a pro game honestly because you just don't know how things will end even when there's almost nothing left.
