Amon's corruption is overtaking everything and everyone. Soon even your closest ally will betray you. It's clear no one can be trusted. There is only one option left: destroy them before they destroy you.
In this video I try out at least one game with most of the available Commanders. I decide to play Karax, Raynor, Alarak, Zagara, Stukov, Nova and Swann on the Steppes of Betrayal.

Yeah it's bugged in that the normal Ally abilities still is active even as enemies, as the ability to build on your opponents creep ... Still i like the idea, it could be fun with some small tweaks (like all abilities being 50% as effective)

Nova OP? How? She feels quite slow and has no early devastating abilities like banshee drop or apocalisk. With so much cheese, games are decided by time your hero unit spawns. Same problem for Kerrigan.

You can rush without call downs try using swann and just rush with ten scv to build flaming Betty's in their base

I did about 20 of these against nearly all other commanders (including Raynor and Karax) as Abathur. Won every game. Just drop a few mines in his base. Drop a few spine crawlers on the creep the mines make to take out survivors. With Abathurs mastery spine crawlers morph in just a few seconds.

Honestly Coop commanders in a melee match would be fun, might have to make it a 2vs2 though considering some of their abilities are primarily support.

I'd love to see a 2v2 Objective Co-Op, not actually fighting each other (literally unable to damage each other unless they are in your base, then you can damage them via Attack command to prevent body blocking), but competing for which team can complete the objective better/faster. Both teams do want to complete the objective, because if it fails, everyone fails, but the team that does the most/best gets a bonus.

Had the most fun in month with this. But to be honest: Its cheese, cheese, cheese. Played ~ 20 games with this co-op today and only the guys, which played it first time tried the "normal" build-up. And they lost. Badly. My first game started with "no cheese" from my opponent and 10 seconds later he sky-bombed my mineral-line to bits. "Thats my way of cheese". Well... in my opinion Swann is one of the beste. Why? - Build factory not in your base, together with one supply depot. - send 3-4 workers to turret-attack your enemys base. At this time, you got sky-bombed or cannon rushed. Mostly you can run for your money. If not, you still have the factory. - In most cases, the enemy kills your turret attack, but he uses up his special abilitys. - Send in one worker or one unit from factory to get vision, send in the Ares to murderkill everything. Your laser will help. You also can fly around your factory to get vision. If you didnt kill everything, stay low wait for next Ares drop... And i wont even start with Raynor... build 2 barracks, assault-drop from orbit, and if you realy, realy want him dead... wait for banshees... and maybe your big bad battleship to yamato-gun the last guy in the rubble of the enemy base. Ballanced? Hell no. Funny? Oh my god, yes.

@lowko, just did this week brutal mutation in 1 try. 1 advice if u using Zerg or stukov in particular, ur overlords will drop like flies. So it's best if u build 2 command centers to replace losses.

Lowko, you really lacked that sneaky side that made this mutation so incredibly fun. Like with raynor, simply cheesing with 3 racks at the start and non-stop drops is pretty much almost unstopable. Swann, you can use multiple SCV's to build things. So you can literally use 5 SCVs to build your factory almost instantly, nobody has anything out and then take those same SCVs to the enemy base and build some flaming betty's in their fund line in just a few seconds and with karax, well, at least you saw you can 1 shot their base right at the start :D

One guy tried cannon rushing me as Artanis, I was playing Nova. He built a few cannons but I got the 700 minerals and landed my marines with a defensive drone. He immediately left.

Won against Vorazun as Stukov. The DT's walked in, but I made 5 missile turrets and two bunkers. Most of my defenses were rekt, but he stopped to engage them and ran out of time. Then the overlord dropped infestations on the Nexus and an Apocalysk erupted in his base, and it was all over.

To my knowledge, you can over charge a warping in structure as Alarak. Unless that was changed in the recent patch. I haven't played him in a while but I seem to recall thinking "that's ... kinda weird and broken" But you don't get the full range due to limited vision.

On SWANN, You need to spam on his base Combat Drop, Hellbat, Goliath and Devastation Turret. GG. (More weaker is probably ARTANIS, because It easy to evade Orbital Strike and Solar Bombardment)

I find it funny how Lowko keeps talking about having to survive until his army can get going, but doesn't actually focus on defense. The one time he does, it's against Kerrigan who can easily overpower early game defenses. He also ignores missile turret detection options when going against nova and vorazun. Honestly if they wanted to make this type of game fair and level the playing field between commanders, there would have to be a global cooldown on commander abilities that doesn't allow any commander-specific abilities to be employed for, say, 3-4 minutes. That includes Raynor's drop pods, Swann's laser drill, and everything orbital ability. Earlier cheese would then be limited to unit production the same as the regular game. But, even that doesn't *fully* cover balancing, because there are too many overpowered units and abilities, and certain commanders would simply be too strong. Kerrigan for instance would overwhelm opponents with fast, cliff-jumping +2 attack zerglings who can easily pop out before she does. The other alternative I can see is preventing players from leaving their own base (possibly with an expansion to take) for a certain period of time while each builds their base and forces for the fight ahead.

backstab mode, activated. The reason Blizzard can have some outlandish units for co-op b/c it's Comp Stomp. But when they attempt PVP in this mode, they will have a nightmare on their hand. Standard RANKED games are as hard to balance as it is for regular units. Now imagine with all the outlandish units in Co-Op mode turn to PVP.

Many people are saying they wish this was this co-commands pvp was a thing. It technically is right now. There is multiple extension mods that allow such pvp and of course this mode.

Ground Unit Battles Faction Warfare and Allied Commanders are two of the best that I know of. Ground Unit Battles Faction Warefare has many more units than in co-op and is set in faction, but not hero. Its much more pvp focused and much newer. Allied Commanders Melee was actually released by Blizzard as a mod version of co-op then tweeked alot by the modding community with many variations of it existing. It is basically a replication of co-op, but more focused on PVE. There is also that mutator that allows people to do pvp.

This is so cool, but to beat the imbalance they should make maps specifically for co-op pvp. Make the home bases inaccessible by any ground and air forces, including the call down hero units. It can be done by creating an air/ground block, which could be destroyed by killing a structure which is just outside the main base. The structure should be a 1x1 grid like a watch tower, with many hit points, which should give enough time for all the commanders to make an army/defense. The blockade only works for opponent units, so you can still get out in the map just not in opponent's home base. As armies grow they can destroy the blockade structure and win the game.

My choices of highlights: 3:05 8:36 and 8:49 12:46 17:15 22:45 26:16 31:35 Also, I love how it says "Defeat" even though your objective is to actually eliminate the other player. If this were actually a full-time game mode, too many of the commanders would be broken, as demonstrated through your use of Stukov and Alarak. By guesswork alone, I'd say that Kerrigan, Abathur, Swann, and Nova (to a *far* lesser extent, depending on the opponent) are the only ones that *won't* seriously ruin your game right out of the gate; Kerrigan needs time to spawn, Swann's laser drill needs time to power up, Abathur doesn't have a lot of good early game units (though does have strong ground defense), and Nova is mineral intensive enough to where her bombing runs have little utility until late game (assuming you can survive that long).

How to defeat early karax bullshit; - Pick kerrigan - Send 2 drones in the 2 corners of the map and then take expansions there - He's gonna come, cannon rush or whatever, he's gonna destroy your base and then be confused - When Kerrigan is out send her to his base and kill everything

There is a game mode ingame that requires a small purchase and friends on the app. It has this feature permanently. You can even go 3v3.

Looking back at this, Mengsk would be overpowered for this. Instant bunkers or even Dogs of War would be so powerful.

the worst is playing Artanis, using all of your orbital strikes, then realizing your passive ability shielded them all from death.

I totally wrecked Vorazun with Artanis. Built 3 Gateways and just kept on dropping Zealots in her base, before she could get any army up. Didn't even notice my shield on her probes.

Arne Henkler yeah, I actually managed to win against a level 14 alarak when i was level 6 artanis, it's just infuriating when it happens.
