I read in comments you said do prob do 1/2 inch for babies up to two, does that include hem? So cut 1/2 inch below crotch then hem 1/2 inch?

I had my eye on this pattern and watched your awesome tutorial last night. I purchased this pattern after watching, and am about to go sew it up! I want to make reversible shorties, but I can't get my head around your explanation about how you attached the binding to the leg holes. Can you please explain that again and add in a few more details? 😂 I get that you serged it onto your favorite fabric, but I got lost after that.

Hey!! I’m SO excited you’re trying out the reversible shorties! So have you used binding before? I have a great video teaching how to do it.. look on my channel for the video on the summer cami onesie for a detailed look at how binding works. But essentially you want to serge the band (not folded) onto each leg hole and the fold the rest of the fabric up and over to cover the raw edges of the seam and fold under the raw edge of the binding to hide it and pin it all down and use a stretch stitch to hold it down!

@@ComeCreateWithKim Ahhhh, thank you! It makes sense to me now. I didn't understand to serge it on as a binding rather than a band. I just made one today but it won't be reversible because I ending up serging the folded band onto both pieces. I'm going to try another one tomorrow using your method. Wish me luck! @@ComeCreateWithKim One more question, Kim 👆🏼...are you attaching the unfolded band onto the leg opening BEFORE sewing the crotch seam, or are you sewing the crotch seam first, connecting the two short ends of the band, and then attaching it to the leg hole "in the round"? Thanks!

@@kappygraney5218 I bet you could do it either way, actually! When I did it, I sewed the crotch seam closed first. But I wonder it would be easier to attach the binding and then close it. I would say to do the fold over part last for sure. But yeah, I did the binding in the round (meaning the leg holes were closed up and I sewed the binding together first)

Go for it! You won’t regret it:) and you don’t have to make it reversible either.. if you just want to make it a dress you can cut out a liner like the instructions show and then hem up the bottom as per usual :)

How would you do a pants version? Im trying to do reversible shortalls but im having trouble figuring out how to do the crotch area.

I love reversible shorties! What I did was cut binding for the leg holes! I attached it first to my most favorite fabric serging it on, and then did a single fold binding, stretching as I go, and top stitches with my coverstitch, Twin needle, or a zip zag.

how would I make sure it doesn't look like a potato sack if I am making it for a customer? lol. do you suggest just doing 1" from the crotch line and that eliminates that risk?

Great question! I just feel like maybe you can play around with it.. make one or at different lengths and find the length you prefer most! I think adding anywhere from 1-2”-1” is good for bigger sizes since they’re taller and have long legs... for babies up to 2 or so tend to be smaller and probably wouldn’t need MORE than the 1/2”.

Thanks for the feedback! I try to keep it at a moderate pace. Are there any specific parts you wished were slowed down? I attempted to format it in such a way that you could rewatch it a few times quickly to catch onto the parts you need the most help with, and not drag too much. But I am definitely open to your feedback on parts I can improve

The video was just a little to fast for me. I guess I just like a slower pace I definitely have to stop and rewind a bunch but I'll get it. Thanks for the video
