Good video. Answered some questions I had about the card. Off topic question. I’m headed to belton in April. I’m used to fishing Toledo bend with boats lanes. Does belton have boat lanes or is it good to run? I can’t find any info on this.

Great question Belton is a deep lake it does not have boat lines you can basically run anywhere you want just be aware of the trees in the backs of coves.

Great video ,so I purchased an elite fs 9 a few days ago with cmap Contour +. Have not had it in the water yet. Set it up today playing around with it, and noticed on the lake mapping there's no river channel s or creek beds marked say with a blue line like my older Hook 2 5"INCH . How do I find them on my chart . Maybe I just missed them. Thanks

It should be on your advance options when you’re on your map at the bottom. If you can’t find it through the options on your map to the right I recommend doing a soft reset on your graph. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

Also, make sure you go online and get the rebate for cMAP reveal. It allows you to put it on your other units as well

How do set up shading. I know how to do it, but what is the depth and colors you have found easy to follow?

I feel that the shallower the depth it goes I want to put more red orange and yellow because it shows danger. The further out would just be whatever preference that’s my opinion. I hope that helps

Does Lake Belton still have any water in it.?

Great question last time I was on Belton the water was close to 20 feet low. This was about a month ago but we’ve had rain ever since so it may have come up since then.

@FishingWithCotton my son lives near Canyon Lake. He says the lake is gone. You can nearly jump across it at its widest point.I figured Lake Belton was affected by the same weather pattern. I fish lakes in western Arkansas and they have plenty of water in them. I am returning from a pause in a lifetime of fishing. I was a bass fisherman in Texas, salt water fisherman out of Palacious Texas, then I moved to Arkansas. Due to my wife's illness I had to give up fishing for a while. I now target Crappie and find them to be a tough nut to Crack. However, like all fish there are some key points that determine your success or failure. I haven't found them yet, but I am retired and have plenty of time to fish. One thing I learned when bass fishing is that high boat traffic on weekends keep the bass spooked and hard to catch. I rarely fish on weekends now. Good luck with your fishing videos. I hope you guys in Texas get the rain you need. While in Texas I fished Toledo Bend mostly. It's a beautiful lake.

@@HughButler-lb6zs I have not been down to Canyon Lake in a bit. That is so sad, I know that the East Coast got a lot of rain this year when Texas needed so much. I do some saltwater fishing every year wish I could do more but time is always a crunch. Sorry to hear about the wife hope things get better. Well if you are ever back in Texas give me a shout and we can try to go to the lake. Thanks for keeping up and watching the videos.

when I look up this card at Bass pro, it only gives me 3 states, Tennessee, North Carolina and Alabama! Why is that? Thanks

Great question thanks for asking this chip is regionalized It goes on the region that you are living in mine was the south chip. Hope that helps.

Yes the live updates with updates to off shore for wrecks and timing things like weather etc. it also has secret fishing spots in some area's

I just received mine. I don't like it with the contour lines on. I'll be using my hot maps to navigate and my c-map to fish.

You can actually turn off the contour lines so that you do not have to run with them on if you don’t want to. Just go under your Advanced options

How is it for general navigation? We do very little fishing, however we do a lot of recreational boating. I really like the shading aspect of c-maps but I am wondering if Navionics+ would be better for navigation. It would be going on a Lowrance elite 9 TI

When in reveal mode would not use it for general navigation only when you have the contour lines on top of it would I use it for navigation. As far as I know Navionics+ works with hummingbird not Lawrance products. As far as the reveal chip I don’t think it works with the 1st version of the elite TI only the elite TI 2 and above. I’ve fished with it 4 times. There are so many steps to make small changes. I’d rather fish. Maybe I am just used ti the helix stuff.

With anything could always make minor adjustments in updates, but for what you can do with it is amazing. Just like any other manufacturer there Has to be updates to tweak and make things better. Thank of 10 years ago to now how far we have come in technology.

Have you been able to remove white outlines around cmap reveal text? Not the overlay I mean the text on the vector chart, I cant seem to find that settings anywhere.
