CMAP Reveal Features & Benefits

Two features I use a lot that weren't mentioned: you can adjust the transparency of the photo overlay (good for spotting docks), and the Genesis layer is a gold nugget. If I have not fished a lake before I can go on there and check the Genesis layer on to see where people have recorded sonar and fished (some lakes show this better than others). That gives me a starting point to investigate where I might try fishing.

Maybe dumb question: My Cmap Base no chip doesn’t show my small lakes. If I put a Cmap or Navionics chip in for my area will it acknowledge them as water and show them? I loaded waypoints in but they show on dry land right now with no card…

Also, under chart options, you can select the genesis layer feature. If it doesn't show contours on smaller lakes and / or backwater areas. It will display contours if it were mapped by locals, and they made made it shareable when they uploaded to cmap genesis.

Can you use this map card to navigate around on the lake so that you won't get lost I live near a huge Lake and would like to go from one bus stop to another and it might be 15 Mi away but I don't want to get lost on the lake will this map car help me navigate on the lake

Is there a listing of lakes posted somewhere ? Would like to know if the lakes that I fish are covered on the chip.

Is there anyway I can just have it connected just to do the C-map's? So I can figure it out just by C-map's? And what all would I need to go about that with just the C-map unit? And what unit is the best one to do that with?
