Lowrance & Motor Guide Xi5 At Work

I bought a Lowrance auto pilot for my boat and run it on a HDS*, it has never worked as advertised and trying to find help on it has been next to impossible. After dealing with this product I bought a Minn Kota Ulterra. Love the minn kota

I have a HDS-10 Gen 2 (NOT Touchscreen) that is setup on a NMEA-2000 network. Lowrance website IMPLIES that the functionality exists (I assume with ver 4.0 software release) to support integration with the MotorGuide Saltwater Xi5-105/60" GPS. Have you ever witnessed this integration with the NON Touchscreen HDS Gen 2 machine? Thanks!

When do we get to make our XI5 work with our lowrance units??????? Still waiting and no gateway cable for the public yet???

The Gateway Cable is expected to be shipping next month. It will be sold by MotorGuide and will be launched at the same time as the next software update for the HDS units, which will be available for free on our website and will be required to interface with the Xi5. - This is a statement we received from Lowrance.

Is the Gateway Cable & Lowrance Touch software all that's required to make this happen? No additional network box or such?

You will need a NMEA 2000 setup (Starter Kit $69 on Amazon)

does the xi5 have down imaging built in the motor or is it only 2d I bought the motorguide trolling motor cause I love motor guide I wanted to hook it to hummingbird but I was told I cant so I just wondering which lowrance depth finder I need I like to just have 2d an down imaging if possible without adding my transducer to trolling motor

It is to my understanding that down imaging will not work with the transducer built into the trolling motor. Only the traditional 2D sonar will work. Motorguide = Lowrance and Hummingbird = Minn Kota. I do believe if you go onto motorguides website they will tell you the list of sonar compatible with the xi5

m-Townspiders m-Townspiders did you find out? I am trying to figure the same think out. Just ordered the ulterra and a lowrance and they ordered a 30 dollar cable for it. Will let you know if it works
