I found this because I saw the Lowrider Band last night in SF and they BLEW MY MIND. I am a jazz fan more than rock and pop and know good musicians and these guys kicked ass big time. I was stunned. I have seen hundreds of shows, I was even at the Monterey Pop Festival and this was among the best I have ever seen.

good info. my young ass never new. All you older folks share this knowledge. it truly is real music at it's finest. Most of the younger generation became awhere of this ground because of there parents and carshows. i can put this the OG group on for my kids and they will jump up and start singing and dancing on the spot. not even pop or MTV or BETV has the same affect on them. I was at the WAR concert in Rotterdam 1976 or something on their European tour, it was awesome, those dudes are forever in my heart. Gonna plug them bigtime :) Today my boss informed me my pay got blocked and possessed 'cause I didn't pay a frigging bill for.....20 euros lol, now i'm chilling with you guys :) Keep cool guys and i'll slip into darkness with you :) Haha the end of times is nigh so i'm gonna sell my el cheapo watch, and enjoy

Yes, that tune is called "Fidel's Fantasy" (a Papa Dee Allen composition) and it's off of their 1st album without Eric Burdon; the self-titled "War".

Yes, finally the REAL War! Thanks for posting!!! Why is Lonnie the only one w/ rights to the name??? I've really missed them over the years. I own all their LPs and NEVER missed them whenever and wherever they were in Chgo...was even at the High Chapparel EVERY night when they recorded "WAR...LIVE" in 1972...unforgettable experience...seems like just yesterday... I really hope they soon get back to the midwest/Chicago for some more performamces. I'll be 1st in line for tickets.

I saw War @ Valley Forge Pa Music Center in 1978... Never forgot the experience. Lonnie Jordan and his War band were in Camden NJ 4th of July... No Soul.... I cant wait to see the Low Rider Band.. Wish Lonnie would get back with his real brothers.

I saw them bout 20 years ago at a place called Gussie L'amour's near the Honolu airport. Lonnie was there, Papa Dee also. They were awesome. These guys are the real WAR. Lonnie needs to sing why cant we be friends and tell Jerry G to shove it.

Sounds great! I remember listening to all the WAR albums starting when I was a porr, 8 yr. old white boy in upstate NY. Now I'm older, not quite so poor, not in NY, and, yes, still white - and still listening to WAR! But these guys made me into a fairly decent, so I'm told, percussion player by modeling the stuff they did. And the roadie in checking the monitors? Do it before the gig, between sets....that's as bad as tuning your guitar on stage through the P.A.

@heybert05, Hi. With all the BS legalities that Jerry Golddigger has placed on the OG's of WAR, they probably don't advertise as well as they could. Because if the LOWRIDER BAND even mentions the NAME WAR (that THEY made famous), their show gets cancelled by that loser Jerry, and he slaps another lawsuit on them. It's great that you even know of the LRB and at least you can keep an eye and ear out if they are around where you live. Hope you get that chance, 'cause they still kick ass! Peace.
