Charlie Watts was an absolute gentleman and phenomenal drummer. There were never any scandals involving him. RIP Charlie ❤

Such a lovely man I met him in the nineties I was a electrician and occasionally did work for him I’d often sat in he’s kitchen and Shirley would make me coffee. One day I was drinking my coffee and a beautiful greyhound came in and I bent down and stroked it then Charlie came in and said would you like that dog it hates me bites me It obviously likes you take it home with you. I lived in a flat at the time so had to decline he’s offer my last memory of that lovely family was on 911. I was in the tv room with Shirley she had just brought me in a cup of tea We both stood glaring at the tv in astonishment watching these planes crashing into the buildings I never saw them after that as I moved up country but my memories of working for him and Shirley are memorable a very generous man especially round Xmas A privilege to have known them sadly both gone now RIP

After the punch, Charlie said, "I'm not your drummer; you're my singer!"

I was waiting to hear about these "scandals" and there were none to be mentioned. Problem drinking and drugs are not much of scandal merely quite a surprise in the case of Charlie Watts. Hats off to Charlie for winning this battle.

Thanks for this, certainly some great film of Charlie, and the other lads. I well recall a friend of ours very many years ago going to the Continent somewhere and they were on the same aircraft out of England with Charlie and his wife and said what nice people they were. RIP Folks.

Charlie has already said the story about Mick calling him 'His drummer' and the punch in the face, never happened.

No scandals here. A beacon of resistance. unyielding stance. music was sacred. watts was a man of principle. watts did not like sid vicious. watts was unimpressed by the more flamboyant personalities of the 1970s. watts was a mixture of discipline and authenticity.

Ya mean he was dull, like the bass player? If he hated commercial rock n roll, why didn't he quit? Cuz he liked his tailor-made suits is why. Quit treating him like a moral force.
