Is su-10 worth the extra price when comparing to this one? By the way it would be great if you could compare all the dacs smsl and other brands from the same groups have launched with this chip. This one, do300, d1se 2, su-9 pro, d400es...they are so many and specs are very much the same but at different price points. This would be a great video and great help in choosing a product. I confess I'm very confused.

SU-10 is probably the best noise performance out of any DAC at this moment and sound is always subjective so you will have try it in your system, easy choice for me I’ll choose D40 Pro from your list because it’s pretty much half price, thanks

Good morning, Thank you for your work. This Loxjie D40 Pro seems excellent with ess 9039 chip. But what is it worth compared to the Sabaj A20d 2023 with akm AK4191+AK4499EX chip. What I see between the two is the number of takeover bids, 3 for SAbaj and 9 for Loxjie. More expensive models have more Opa. THE Loxjie has an i2s input which is useless for my taste while the Sabaj has a more versatile USB input. It's true that the Loxije lme has a USB B input. In any case, these two models look similar but should not sound the same. According to certain tests, the measurements place these two dacs below the Eversolo Z8 with an ess 9038pro chip (chip lower than the 9039 and 4999ex) What do you think of the differences in sound between the sabaj and the loxije? I have now also placed an order. Have a smsl su 9 today with good results. Tested this weekend an eversolo A6, which I didn't like at all, cumbersome small text, low sound. Looking forward to testing this, don't know much about this chipset, many others have 9038! Have also placed an order for an Audiolab M-DAC+

First of all thank You for this review and recommendation! I have just received the Loxjie D40 Pro and it is burning in in my stereo setup B. Immediately there is sound signature as described open, dynamic and punchy. It is very transparent and fast DAC. This is what I was looking for from a DAC. And yes, there is enough wide and deep soundstage. Now, what will be a perfectly matched amplifier up to 1000 euros range for this DAC?...

D300 is still one of my favorite DAC for the money, D40 Pro is as good as it gets for the price with the features and adjustability but the different in sound is only come down to personal preference and system paring. Thanks

I have been into HIFI for more than 50 years. The A40 is the best amp for the money I've ever owned. In a small area like a livingroom, For a moderate power level, the A40 is the balls.

Great presentation and demo 👍Received mine today, it replace an SMSL SU-9n, who replaced my Yggdrasil. Do it sound better ? Yes, sound is cleaner, very open, more natural, detailed and transparent, in fact I wasn't expecting such a difference. Filters are mostly OK, you've to try what suits better your system and taste but filter "0" is something totally crazy, it's open bar on all the sound parameters, very spectacular ! I tought my system had hit a ceiling (listen my last video) well not at all, it was an excellent surprise, so thank you for drawing my attention to this wonderful DAC!

D40 will sound great with any types of headphones, EF400 is to pair with their own headphones. Sound is always subjective but build quality EF400 is better, features and functionality and DAC I would say D40 Pro is better, thanks

Hi, and thank you for your youtube reviews... I'm looking for a dac and I'm completly lost. I'm looking for a good DAC simple as that. I fit has or not a preamp headphone is not important to me. So I was considering the Loxjie D40 or D40 pro and then I saw the SMSL D300 and then another and again and again. So I'm lost. Today I have a Pioneer N50. I think we should focus on SNR of the unit than what type of power supply in this kind of affordable DAC but in reality is everything has gone to switching mode PS up to $1.5 range from major big name brands.
