Artificial fields should be illegal. The fumes they give off are toxic. The surface is far too hard for soccer. It shortens careers due to wear and tear and higher likelihood of injury. The ball rolls too fast, bounces too hard, and it changes the game completely. There is a significant difference in the style of play going from natural grass to AG.

The defender appears to make a play on the ball, tackles the ball, and hits the offensive player with his shoulder while playing the ball. I think it was a poor penalty. Ultimately, defenders need to take care in the box, but games shouldn't be dictated on marginal penalty calls.
