The whistle, vibrato and swag are just a few signature characteristics of LP. This was written about an ex during the last year of their relationship. The woman at the end was LP’s ( then) new gf ( now ex fiancé). Born in Long Island,LP has been around for some time but remains relatively unknown and criminally underrated as an artist in the States. Her/their mother was an opera singer and took note of LP’s voice and vibrato from a very young age. She/ They have written for many artists including Rihanna, Cher, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Joe Walsh, +. After playing SXSW in 2012 there was bidding war to sign her/ them ( Island Def Jam ) and there have been 7 contracts with big, small and indie labels. In 2016 ,after playing Lost On You, Muddy Waters, and Strange for Warner she/ they were dropped. Around the same time she/they got a DM from an obscure label in Greece that wanted to play Lost On You. Well it caught fire in Europe, surpassing 5X platinum to Diamond. I’ve seen LP live only 3 times but each time was truly mind blowing. ( There are many fans who are lucky enough to be able to see a dozen or more shows each tour, traveling all around Europe and to the States ( where they get much smaller venues vs huge crowds).

This is one of my favorite songs!!!!!!!!! Love LP!! And this song is such a vibe. There is a cover of this song that is hauntingly beautiful & powerful sung by 2 male vocalists. It's the lyrics of Lost On You put over the Hans Zimmer score "Time" from the movie Inception and then their insane vocals & harmonies. Mario Jose & Scott Hoying. Scott is part of Grammy winning acapella group Pentatonix & Mario is an exceptional voice in his own right. You should check it out now that you have heard the original track.

You really need to check the live version, all of LP’s live stuff is way better than the studio versions. Please check out ‘Muddy Waters’ and her cover of ‘Halo’

Just so you know I did watch this reaction when you dropped it i just couldn't comment cause was out all day with my son. You gotta check out the live version. The link is under the comment where i requested it. For some reason when I add a link to a comment with more than a couple of words it doesn't show up.
