It covers: the near extinction of the whooping cranes; the captive breeding and rearing programs at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in Texas and the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in Maryland; the establishment and work of the reintroduction program at the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area in southwest Louisiana; the development of a whooping cranes education program for K-12 students; and a visit to the Whooping Cranes Festival in Aransus, Texas.
