Thank you for your comments right from the start. much appreciated. It is far from the end of the channel though as I am currently in negotiation for my first 'commission' to do a conversion for someone. very exciting. A new L4H3 Ducato with similar layout but no LPG or Truma and lots of Lithium Batts to run induction cook top and electric water heater and Webasto diesel heater. watch this space....

Really useful. I did see another video where someone had their system checked by a gas engineer and they said that copper olives should be used with lpg instead of brass. I’m going to have to check my own as I can’t remember which I used.

Thanks for the comment. I must admit I did not even look at what olives they were, they are just the ones that came in the fittings! it has been a year now since install and all is good and I have checked all the connections again recently with the spray and no bubbles!

Could I add that I have found leaks that the leak spray couldn’t detect but a manometer did find (got my ACOPS hat on at the moment) Love your videos all the same and your presentation style! I’m not really keen on the 13a socket near a gas fitting though

Nice splash back in the galley… Will you be doing the video on installation of that? Thank you

I did not really film that part to be honest. I simply made a basic frame out of B&Q 34x27 timber to fix it to to it was fairly straight up and that was about it. so there is a gap behind between the red splashback and the solway panel, only a couple of inches....

As a trained/qualified gas engineer I’ve always suggested not to use washing up liquid as that can cause corrosion due to the salts it contains

I've only just started watching your videos very good. Have you done other vans up ? I love to do it do you work to a budget.

Thanks for the comment. It is my first build but I suspect will not be my last. In regards to budget, yes I did have a budget in mind but I worked out carefully before starting how much all the components and equipment would be so had a very good idea of what the total build cost would be. Would suggest to anyone starting out to do tons of research first and have a spending plan for what you want to install in your van. then add a good 20% to 30% on top for misc expenses etc and your good to go. hope that helps.

Do you think there is space under your van to fit a box to fit a battery as I am thinking of fitting a 400ah lithium but would be great to have i5 underslung

I am sure there would be space although I dont think I would put a lithium battery under the van even if in a box, my concerns would be: wet, damp, dirt, damage from road debris, cold etc etc. You of course do what is right for you and your van but I would not do that. all the best with it.

Would a domestic appliance gas safe engineer be capable of signing off the installation? Thanks

Presumably but not 100% sure, you'll have to ring some I'm afraid to ask.

Did you have to route a gas pipe across from one side of the van to the other? I have to do that myself, and I'm not sure whether to run it under the sub floor, or under the van. I would be intrigued to know what you did - if you did! :-)

Yes, mine goes under the subfloor along with the hot and cold water pipes. i used one continuous length with gentle bends at either end and elbows/joiners in locations where accessible.
