We found the exact same with the cultural differences when we went to Hong Kong Disney. We had really grown to love the park by the end of our two days, although it is very small, but the interactions with other guests did dampen our experience somewhat.

I liked seeing your perspective compared to people who only went when they first opened. As far as Disneyland, Storybook Land at night time is pure magic. They close for fireworks, but do reopen. It is my home park so I hope you have a wonderful time.

I’m loving re watching all of your old Vlogs!! I also want to say that I have a Stoma due to an Inflammatory Bowel Disease, mine is like Crohn’s and I know how we have to be so so careful with what we eat. Even with my Stoma it hasn’t cured my condition. Hope you’re both doing okay. Looking forward to seeing future trip Vlogs! ❤️

Loved this series! We did a trip to China two years ago and stayed at the Toy Story Hotel. Quite a few good things seem to have been added since then as the fast passes were crazy when we were there, with no app! Glad you had such a fun time!

I just burst out laughing at weeing in the bin 😂 excellent honest review! Would not have expected the queuing/spitting/urinating, can’t believe how different it it with Tokyo! Tokyo we found people so respectful and everyone was wearing matching outfits 😂

Great vlog series, really enjoyed watching! Takes me back to our trip in 2016, we also stayed at the TSH. I’m not a big fan of thrill rides but Tron absolutely blew our minds!!! So cool that it’s coming to WDW. Keep sharing your adventures with us, lots of love Markus

Thank you Luke & Rich, this Shanghai Disney series has been truly amazing 😚 Loved it so much. And so interesting to hear your thoughts on the experience. Food wise I think I'd struggle in the park too. I'm really not very adventurous with food & would have probably eaten in Cheesecake Factory all the time too! Sorry to hear that the merch wasn't as good as you hoped for. But glad that you still had lots of treats & looking forward to the haul. x

Thank you Luke & Rich, such a great vlog! What a fabulous park 🥰 As much as I’d love to see it and ride those amazing rides it’s not a place I’d be able to enjoy as my tolerance levels are no where near as good as yours 😂, people coughing on me and touching me would not go down well. Thankfully tron is coming to Florida ( my ♥️ place), that ride looks incredible! xx

That was very diplomatically put about the cultural differences and I’m glad you do mention them. I have Aspergers and have been to Beijing before and found the lack of queuing etiquette and invasion of personal space to be completely intolerable. I love Disney and would love to see the park but absolutely cannot face being in that environment again and find the cultural differences to be completely at odds with what I hold Disney to embody. It may be Disney in name but the spirit looks lacking as Disney is more, to me, than just the rides. I once remember getting to the front of a queue there and having hands coming over my shoulder with people ordering from behind me and the tellers doing absolutely nothing to acknowledge me or take my order despite being right in front of them. I’ve also experienced all you mention in relation to people doing the toilet in places we’d never dream and also the spitting. Sorry but it’s disgusting and I’m glad you do mention these things as to some this could really ruin their holiday...especially others like me who are on the spectrum and where queue jumping and the invasion of personal space can quickly become a flash point. Thanks for the honest review and it was good to see you both there. I’m insanely jealous of the Tron ride and can’t wait until it comes to Florida. I’m luckily getting to take my wife and kids there for their first time this year. Cannot wait to see their faces! :) Thanks for all your videos. They’ve been a big help as well as thoroughly entertaining.

its probably not as bad, but people in California, in the original disney park I am an AP holder and people do not understand personal space and do try and cut if you don't watch out for it. I cant stand it and I say something when I go to the parks because no not fair. that sucks that you experienced that, I am glad you did have fun :) I cant wait to go myself with my family, especially Pirates!

Nooooo it's over already? :( But living for your Instastories right now :) Shanghai I think is still somewhat last on my wishlist, the only thing that really attracts me there is Tron... I've heard a lot of those disgusting stories already so... not too keen on that haha :p And oh my goodness, I NEED my personal space so....If I have to safe for a Disney trip besides DLP and WDW, Shanghai will not come first I'm afraid. But Tokyo intrigued me. But first things first: Try to make it to DLR and WDW :)

Went to Hong King Disney where a lot of main land Chinese go and wow were they rude. Saw one use her kid as a battering ram to push her way to the front of the line! You can tell who is from Ho g King and who isn’t as most speak Cantonese in Hong Kong where main land China speaks mandarin. Often wondered if the Shanghai Disney would have more of that kind of behaviour so thanks for being honest!

Yeah, we won't be going to Shanghai simply due to the cultural differences. The first time someone coughed on the back of my neck, arm or in front of me and my family would be, "lets catch the next flight home." Especially now with COVID19 .
