In this lecture I only focused on what is LRFD in terms of design equation, little bit compare with ASD and little introduction of Plastic design method and in last I added the load factor and load combination for LRFD.

LRFD (Load and Resistance Factor Design) tailored for a non-engineer audience:
Imagine building a bridge:
*You want it strong enough to handle cars, trucks, and maybe even bad weather.
* LRFD is a fancy way of designing structures like bridges to be safe and reliable.
*How it works:
Think of it like a recipe:
* LRFD considers all the "ingredients" that affect a structure's strength: the weight it needs to hold (loads) and how strong the building materials are (resistance).
* But things aren't always perfect: traffic might be heavier than expected, or materials might have slight variations.
* LRFD accounts for these uncertainties:
* It "increases" the expected loads (like adding a little extra flour) to make sure the structure can handle surprises.
* It also "decreases" the expected material strength (like using a slightly smaller cup of sugar) to account for any variations.
* The result? A safe and reliable structure!
Benefits of LRFD:
* Safer designs:
By considering these uncertainties, LRFD ensures structures can handle what they're built for.
* More efficient designs:
Sometimes, LRFD allows for using materials more effectively without compromising safety.
* Consistent reliability:
This method helps maintain a similar level of safety across different projects.
LRFD might sound complicated, but it's like a behind-the-scenes process that keeps our buildings and bridges strong!
