They were unwilling to be uncomfortable, unwilling to move out of their comfort zones, refused adaptation not only in picks, but in play-style. Worse, they played cocky as fuck while doing this. They got what they deserved.

Akali sticks out like a sore thumb in that first comp. I don’t know shit about drafting, but even I can see that. They have 3 champs with long range, that have some level of synergy. They can all poke and siege due to their range, and Lee adds some disengage, which siege/poke comps need. All three of those champs are good in lane too, which is something Lee needs. Akali on the other hand is useless in poke/siege comps. A random control mage would have fit better, because they can add something to theme.
