Greatly appreciate the time that you spend to bring us these Tech tip Tuesdays.. It really helps this old school SBC guy, to come up to date with the newer LS 's... what would be a good cam to make about 600 horsepower naturally aspirated in an LS 5.3 L
@Borderline54403 жыл бұрын
600HP out of a 5.3 is a very lofty goal without boost; I would not expect a 600HP NA 5.3 to be very friendly. You would stand a much better chance of doing it with 6.0 or bigger.

Oh that what the extra connection is on my new radiator 😁,(I'm waiting for a few parts for my AC installation) I'm still an old school guy with a SBC, I thought it it was for an sacrificial anode. I do enjoy your channel for information on new things that you guys make as well as for the explanation. One year I will be getting a new engine 😁

You want that steam to go to the highest point in Waterloop, otherwise it cause cavitation in the water pump if you have it dumping into the water pump. Factory GM location is directly below the radiator cap, in the radiator fill neck.
@robholmes21293 жыл бұрын
you want it after the water pump in the upper radiator return hose which goes basically to where he says in this video

Any idea if the small metal gaskets are needed under the steam pipe? I installed a factory vent pipe on the rear of my 03 Z06. Leaks intermittently… new felpro O- rings (match factory), and clean mounting surface. Still leaks… torqued to spec each time… still leaks. Front never leaked, and never had the small metal gaskets.

Derp, this is a Gen 3/4 SBC, It was an engineering solution for a Engine Design that was launched in 1996 and was last produced for vehicles in 2016 (Isuzu NPR) that got rid of the wet intake. Coyote came out in 2010 if I'm not mistaken... LTs probably dont require them. Coyotes also cost way more.
