I have used your heat shield. I was impressed on how well it works. I had two exhaust pipes coming off the headers that was too close to my fuel lines and the transmission. I used an infrared temp gun to check temps. Initially the exhaust without the blanket was a little over 300 degrees. The fuel lines were about 240 degrees! I cut, wrapped and secured the blanket to the exhaust. I checked the temp afterwards and it lowered the temp to 160 degrees!!!! Great product!

Will this heat shield in the long run cause the headers to rust out like the wraps. I’ve gone thru two set of headers because of rust eating the metal with the wrap.
@Heatshieldproducts3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. This work differently than a wrap. You should only cover half of the header. Because this stops so much more heat than an exhaust wrap it is important to let the headers breathe. but leaving half of it uncovered.

Any problems with installing with headers in car & how about stainless steel zip ties
@Heatshieldproducts2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment Warrior. Normally there is no issues installing the Header Armor while the header is on the car. That is the beauty of this product... you can save some time and stop more heat. You can use stainless steel zips if you choose.

@@WarriorOfEden3033 You should check out our website www.heatshieldproducts.com/automotive/auto-heat-shield-guide. It will give you some ideas of what to do with heat under the hood and all around your ride. Some of the opportunities we see are wiring and hoses near and around exhaust. Sleeving is a must in and around your exhaust. Mostly inexpensive why to protect vital components.

@Heatshield Products Inc question, can the headers be fully wrapped 🤔 my starter sits directly behind the headers.
@WarriorOfEden3033 Жыл бұрын
@@stevenvasquez5401 my unwrapped non coated headers are right next to my starter too no issues but you could just wrap it in a way to get the best coverage without completely wrapping it.

Do they make this for long tube headers that’s a shorty?
@Heatshieldproducts3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment Fast Hippo. The current sizes in for this part is 1/4in thk X 18in X 24in and 1/2in thk X 18in X 24in. Both of them come in a singe or double pack. If you headers are long than that you may consider our Heatshield Armor in a longer size.

Can I use both wrap and this heat shield? Will there be any problem..?
@Heatshieldproducts3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching the video. You do not want to use this with a wrap. The wrap will become brittle and fall apart and you will have a loose fitting heat shield. This is engineered to be placed directly on the exhaust.

is this ok for turbo manifolds?

Yes it is, we recommend the 1/2 inch thickness for boosted applications. Thank you for watching.

All that work what about the other side of the header that looks like a waste of money I rather spend the extra cash and get the headers coated

How about both lowering engine bay temp is important & some people don’t want to spend $400 plus on a pro coating
