Just curious, a normal diesel motor would have some sort of governor to handle load changes and keep RPM steady. how are you planning on handling that?

Trying to figure that out. May use some sort of pressure sensing valve on the hydraulics to work another valve to induce air to the engine under load unless you have a better idea

For the gauges i would just put an obd port in , got a Bluetooth obd link and a cheap phone with a obd app to run then , guages, check engine codes and tuning , getting two birds stoned at the same time
