Stock fuel tank solution for my Ls Swapped G Body. Found the solution to vent my fuel tank for my LS Swap. I used Holley EFI fuel tank module- 255 LPH which fits 1978-1987 GM G-Bodies In this video I explain how it works, so if you're interested in an easy solution, this is the way to go. By the way...the filter I am referring to in this video is the Fuel Pressure Regulator/filter. It regulates the pressure to 58psi and is also a filter. Just wanted to make that a little more clear. I did mine the second way you explained, I have had no issues in the Georgia heat with ventilation, so I can say that will work, mine is not Ls swapped but I am running efi with the same pump… I love your swap by the way!!

I'm running a holley sniper efi on my 84 olds with a built 73 350 olds engine and I just bought a cap with the vent already built into the cap haven't had an issue with it ever since BTW love your ls swap I was thinking of doing the swap but I thought well I can just add an throttle body to my set up and get fuel injection that way don't need to get rid of perfectly good running engine 👍🏾

Hey that's awesome that you're running fuel injection on yours. I did order a vented cap, but it did not work for me. Which one did you get and from where? And you're right no reason to replace a perfectly running engine...smart thinking. Thanks for watching!

After watching a couple of times, so the pump you're showing (12-306) has a main line running to the engine and I thought a return line coming back to the tank, but I'm hearing you say that Holley is saying that that is the vent line? Am I hearing that right? I have the same pump I believe and I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to vent the fuel tank myself. Just trying to figure it out...my project is currently not finished.

Yes sir that is correct...I personally contacted Holley to double check, and yes they told me the same thing. One is the main line to the engine and the other one is the vent. This pump does the return internally, so no need for a return line.

Did you ever get this issue figured out? Currently have same issue alot of tank pressure and its even vented.

I've been trying to get to the venting part on mine, what I did for now was I drilled a 1/16" hole in my fuel cap. I have had zero issues with the vacuum issue I was having in the tank. The only issue I've had with doing this is that when I fill it up in the summer and it sits in the heat I have some fuel leak out of that small hole. So in the summer I only fill it up to the top when I'm driving it somewhere. I have to make some time to properly vent it like I described in the video. Thanks for watching!

So I ordered a factory gbody 3port intake sending unit at O’Reilly that has a vent line on it already Most factory gbodys only have 2 ports. 1vent on (driver side) and 1 sending line out (passenger side) My78 Malibu is ls swapped so I use the after market 60 psi kit from evil energy I used the vent line as a return line which in turn created pressure in the tank and also peeked my fuel pressure well in the 100psi range over loading the motor and dumping the extra fuel in the oil so if you smell gas in your oil (that’s why) or if you have high fuel pressure that’s why too. swap it out when your issue is solved the unit I ordered (part #sp172A1H) by precision was around 150$ bucks with tax I’ve heard of people also tapping there own fitting on the cap and running rubber hoses with a filter at the end is a cheaper way hope this helps 🦾

Hey I used the same Holley setup but for some reason I can’t get my Dakota digital to read the fuel level, could you explain to me how you wired yours?

Nice how are you liking your Holley setup so far? Yes of course...the only wire I hooked up was the pink wire from the cluster connector and that was all I ran to the dakota setup. It says to run a ground as well, but I did not do that and it's been working great! How did you wire yours?

@@CutlassVibes I love the setup but for some reason I can’t get the fuel gauge working, guy at Holley say I should use the black wire to battery negative but I used the black & black/white wire ground to chassis together & hooked up pink wire to Dakota box but it’s still not working

@@CutlassVibes the wire from the front of car back to where it plugs up at is good but once I plug it up it seems like it stop reading (put a ground on it to test wire) but I don’t know if it was working or not tbh honest soon as I got car I went to do swap

@@humblelife664 the instructions say to run an additional ground wire to the fuel sensor body or mounting screw...and the picture shows it on the sending unit.

Mine just has the "in" connection but has no return...we didn't have to plug anything at all. I'll double check, but I do not remember any return from the engine at all.
