This BMW Drift Car project started as three cars: a BMW 330ci Coupe, a crashed BMW M3, and a crashed Chevy Camaro. The three cars were combined into one brilliantly balanced drift machine!

While it is kinda blasphemy not to have a straight 6 in the E46, I have to give props to what seems to be a very complete build, even though I never really got the appeal of drifting as an automotive sport [I know it takes great talent etc.]. That engine sounds like a beast...weird seeing that sound come out of an M3....but a beast nonetheless. A cool unique build - what I watch SmokingTire for. Thx again Matt.

Tyrone Ross do you own an E46? I am sure many, many E46 owners would disagree with you. In my Alfa, I would never, ever swap anything other than a Busso V6 under the hood. Against the character of the car otherwise. Plus, that weak shit engine produced over 330hp. How much HP did the Mustang, Camaro, etc. have in their V8s until recently? Oh yeah, well below that number. Weak shit my ass. I ain't even a Bimmer guy, but you gotta respect their engines, they are no joke.

I remember you recorded a nice drift lesson on this same section. The driver did some perfect mods / tuning to that ride. I want to drivee that.

I have always known purpose built drift cars were easier to slide. Never had the pleasure of driving a well sorted one though. I have always wondered how much easier it is though. This totally confirms my thoughts, they are just a cake walk to slide. Anyone can do it, however I give Matt huge props, he went out and killed it even though he had never driven the car before. Shows he has some real talent behind the wheel.
