Badass, I used to have a 260 with a built 302 , it would pull front tires off the ground, man I miss that car

I too have a Datsun Z 1979 sitting in my garage since 2010 and it has a great body and inside is good I have a dream to put a small block Chevy in it. As soon as I get tired of my Vette.

This can sound like a dumb question but why does your engine make deep gurgley crackling sounds? Is that normal
@Schurkest4 жыл бұрын
Damn man, the last time I was up there (to get the STi) harness, you were balls deep in Subarus, now the Z? Man, that is a sharp ride, much potential there. I got out of the Subaru game too, am doing a 92 Prelude.

That thing is SICK!! I have wanted a Datsun Z since I was in elementary school and I would see one on blocks sitting at a house across from the school. thinking on finding a body to drop a LS or 302 carb'd with less electronics to deal with. Keep it up, really interested on where this will go.

Looks like yours came in an emerald green. I just got a 260 with emerald green. About to wrap a silver on it until I want to paint it. Also about to Ls3 swap. Just wanted to get a peak at what I’m about to venture into
@redlineremedy44784 жыл бұрын
Hey man! First thing I would check is your sending unit screen! Ls engines are terrible for them clogging up. Just pull your sending unit out and use a pick to pull it out! Hopefully it fixes your problem without having to dig deep into the engine!

And if this doesn't work I'd bet on your oil pump if you haven't changed it already.

That z has a lot of room under the hood for a small car. Good LS swap. I am swaping a LS in a 35 coupe. I have very little room. I am to the point i need a new 9 inch ford rear and that holly wiring harness and computor. $$ save up.

How good is the front thrust washer on your cam? Any play there and the oil gallies will not be sealed, and there is a oil screen st the back of the motor, if clogged from dirty oil , you can look up other low oil pressure

Just watched all your vids on the 260, subscribed, and notified. I'm throwing a L92 in my 74 260Z as well. How much power are those subbie diffs known to handle? I was thinking of going the ford 8.8 route. But this looks far more bolt in, plug and play. Thanks.
@LifeFlatout4 жыл бұрын
WootSkinsWoot I’m still rocking the stock r180 but subaru r180’s can hold 400-500 pretty safety. Cv’s are the biggest battle.

Flatline Detonation yeah, that was a late night brain flatline. People do put the wrx ones in for posi, but i was just confusing them. For the gas tank have you considered just running the 280zx tank, as they are ready for EFI and bolt in? Guess you still have the gas filler issue tho
@LifeFlatout4 жыл бұрын
Car came set up for this tank and fuel door has been removed. I have a different tank design in mind. I’d like oem but not really an option anymore.
