I'd love to see a statistical breakdown of the car. Take it to the dyno, get hp and torque. Take it to a track and get 0-60 times. Weigh it, etc. I'm also super curious about how the performance stacks up against a regular M5. It'll be especially interesting because the weight difference, but also weight distribution. I've loved following this build but I want so much more info on the finished car because it's so unique.

I'm happy to hear you say speed scares you. People who want to keep rushing into it are usually the problem. And if speed in a car on a highway doesn't heighten your senses, it could also lead to high-speed problems. But even still, we are talking molded plastic. There's probably not more then $20 in plastic. At $4k a kit, they probably turned a profit on the cost set sold and all the rest is just money in the bank. A custom polyurethane body kit costs less then $1k new, and its much more expensive material wise and much harder to work with and build. Hey man just wanted to say I'm a big fan of what your doing here. coincidentally I too am a huge fan of BMW specifically the s85 engine, and the datsun 240z honestly is the only Japanese car I would dream to own simply because its a absolutely beautifully timeless design so when I came across your channel i knew I would be a life long supporter. only thing I would of done differently would be a manual transmission. If you ever do another project with the s85 I would like to see it transplanted into a e46 M3 because I plan to build that one day and I would love to watch someone with your expertise.

What a beauty of a build! So totally cool! If it were up to me, which obviously it isn't, I would have chosen to use a Nissan powertrain...370zx or GT-R...but the Mercedes choice was still really cool! The use of the Mercedes dash was really great too! I realize you wanted a race car, but imagine the possibilities of updating the whole interior to match that killer Mercedes dashboard... Outside, retro 240z...inside pimpin' like a badass Mercedes with all the performance expected of the Mercedes. Fkn KILLER!

Hey brother I’d like to make a recommendation! For oil on the S85 swap over to Ravenol! I went from TWS to Liquid Moly on my S54 and my oil temps went down, the lifters were quieter too! Then swapping to Ravenol is the big move, newest technology for our high revving engines & better shear strength!
