I absolutely love this swap!!!!! I love the Rolls in white with the round headlights; it's just regal bro!
@ronmccants8678Ай бұрын
As a 73 year old tech, I’ve had extensive experiences with the Chevy to Rolls Royce conversion. The one area I didn’t see addressed is the brake boosting of the Rolls’s ( brakes ain’t brakes) before you get to heavily involved with the motor accessories ( a very high pressure system). The brakes will be easily corrected with a Citron brake pump ( similar to a power steering pump) this way you can save yourself a nightmare. The electric Rolls’s shifter can also be used on any GM hydraulic transmission, the shift quadrant is the same. It’s a relatively simple conversion, burnouts not recommended. The height control is also powered by that brake pump. Good luck, you guys are headed for a real challenge based on your experience and level of confidence.
@ronmccants8678Ай бұрын
One more very important point, please have your guys study very carefully the breaking system on a Roll’s Royce ( it’s like no other) and by all means don’t do away with the accumulators, those along with the Citron brake pump will save you a ton of money replacing the entire system ( tell your peeps to remove the cover underneath the brake pedals ( them ain’t traditional master cylinders) the car actually has two breaking systems ( please research everything carefully) it’s so much more than just an engine swap. I also heard that you guys can’t wait to do a burn out ( the Rolls ain’t that kind of party)! That huge radius beam attached to the differential is actually two pieces of foam filled aluminum, with height control rams mounted above the rear shocks ( activated by that high pressure breaking system) In hindsight I just don’t want you guys to have to find out the hard way the a Rolls is a totally different beast.

Thank you so much for your warning, this is what I’m concerned about. Hopefully DRVN Motorsports can figure it out.
@ronmccants867822 күн бұрын
@ Should you take any path other than what I’ve suggested , your project will end up a pile of parts both Rolls and LS . Rolls Royce has always had very specific braking systems. None of the driveline or suspension parts are compatible with any other automobile (nothing) . Keep your accumulators and source a Citron brake pump and incorporate these parts to work on the LS engine. All you need to do is pull the wheels off and have a look, then follow your brake pedal and see what it connects to. Do this before you spend another dime. And if its your dream to drift or lay a patch of burning rubber, your chosen the wrong car! Rolls Royce cars are now and always have been built for comfort. Those hight control rams located on the rear above the shocks is also controlled by the brake pressure system (one of the two systems anyway). One more important fact, the wiring diagrams for the Rolls is specific to the VIN and manufacturing date of the specific vehicle. You’d probably come out better attempting to swap the Rolls body onto a full sized domestic chassis. Just more food for thought before you and your boys jump head first into that really deep water. Keep me filled in with any progress (if any) over the years of my career, I’ve seen many attempts that failed and luckily for me I was able to purchase the mistakes for pennies on the dollar (where my experience in these matters comes from).

Appears that everyone in this video overlooked the hydraulics that will need to be figured out. Suspension and brakes are not standard and are hydraulically driven via push-rods on the original RR engine. Perhaps an aftermarket belt-driven hydraulic pump will suffice? IDK what the builders plan is....

Great idea for a power plant🎉 I've seen this done a lot in America into a lot of vehicles and it's a big pain in the ass to get the electronics to work expect it😮 the only way that motor works is with the computer and the computer operates all the external systems. The anti-lock braking system the transmission you can't avoid any of it as far as I know😮 that's the real trick in getting this to run good luck I hope to see you on the road I think it'd be an amazing conversion🎉

fairly easy to swap in a LS or a Chevrolet 350 small block since Rolls Royce used the GM Hydramatic transmission, which is what some Chevy small blocks were backed up to. While a Chevy small block may not be as smooth or prestigious as a Rolla Royce engine, will more than make up for it in terms of reliability and parts availability.

Mate, the L-Series V8 in the Silver Shadow is the longest run production engine ever in a production car - made from 1959 till 2020 in the Bentley Mulsanne. An LS swap is a bit bogan. If you want to do an engine swap, go electric.

Man you want to do burnouts with a bone stock 5.3 truck engine with stock Rolls Royce running gear. That’s a tall order for very heavy car thats built like a tank. A stock ls 5.3 would make it a great reliable daily. If it were me I would have found a 6.0 or a 6.2 and done some standard mods just to get that thing moving remotely quick. And it’s far from the first ever ls swapped rolls. There have been quite a few rolls with ls swapped engines.
