LS2 introduces a new modular helmet featuring the popular chinbar-back layout for flexible riding options. The 180 degree flip-front modular design does add some weight, but it allows the rider to easily choose between a full face or a ¾ open face helmet. Sweet. LS2’s Twin Shield System is built in, with an inner sun shield. The Valiant is ready to accept the LS2 Bluetooth by SENA system (sold separately). Additional features include glasses-friendly padding and DOT compliance.

Just bought this helmet. You do NOT have to lift the shield to retract the chin bar. Just retract the bar, and the shield will move out of the way automatically. VERY comfortable helmet, too.

I picked up this helmet in early Dec. I Love it!!!! I was worried about the weight, but I really haven't noticed any issues with it. If I has one complaint it would be that it is a bit loud,but what modular isn't? I give it and Revzilla a big thumbs up!!!! (non-paid spokesman...LOL)

I like the fit much better than the Shark. Very comfortable even on long rides. I have ridden 12,000+ with the LS2 Valiant and 30K with the Shark Evo 3. I have not felt the weight an issue even on long days with the chin bar up or down. The helmet is noisy which seems to be inherent with modulars. Ventilation could be improved but not an unbearable issue and I have worn it in temps over 110 degrees. The chin guard and visor mechanics are a big improvement over the Shark as one hand operation is a breeze and only one step whether the visor is up or down. I installed a Sena 20 behind the sun visor switch without any problems. You must trim the plastic skirt to allow the Sena to clamp on. I have had two issues. The cable that operates the Sun Visor failed (became detached). LS2 Helmet Customer Service and repairs are lacking and not considerate of the customer. I expect better reliability and should not have to send the helmet to Illinois for "repairs" causing me to be off the road or have to have a spare helmet.

Do you have any pictures of your install of the 20s? Did you end up using the "glued" mount? I wish the helmet was a little more Sena device friendly as I've been considering getting a 10c pro when it comes out, but with how you're describing where you mounted your 20s, it'd put the camera view kinda far back on the helmet...

@@nethfellearnspiano9655 I have this helmet and I'm using Sena 10C with glued mount, no trimming required. I'd say it's working pretty good overall, plenty of room for speakers, mic and pads inside. Chin bar leaves plenty of room upfront. About 5500 miles on this helmet in about a year. No issues so far.

Tried this helmet on at a local dealer and I must say I’m not a big fan of modular helmets but this one has great visibility, which I believe most modular helmets do and isnt as heavy as it seems. Might get me one soon. Very comfortable too.

Not sure if you ended up buying one, but beware of head shape. My head is oval, but it felt fine while trying it on at the store. 2 hours into a road trip, I was feeling pressure pain all over. Decided to trim the styrofoam instead of shopping another helmet, but that's a personal choice I'm making and not advocating that you or anyone hould do so.

I bought this helmet about 3 months ago. I love it! It is about the same weight as the Shoei Neotec (1) it replaces. It is far more comfortable and has much better ventilation. Yes, removing the neck roll is a PITA, but you can't have everything.

LS2 historically run one size smaller. I tried a XXL and it was very tight! Hoping they correct their size issue and offer more in oval shape. The comfort liner is VERY HOT and limits airflow! It is a nice helmet for WAY TOO heavy!!

Just bought this helmet. Not my 1st modular. That said, my biggest complain is just mediocre ventilation. Good fit & this helmet is actually one of the quietest helmets I have had & is the quietest modular I have used. Able to hear my music with my ear buds & have had a chance to do a phone call at speed with my Senna system. The person I was talking to had no idea I was on my bike. Again, quiet & not an over whelming level of wind noise. I have a neck that has some titanium holding it together & had no problem with the weight complaint that Anthony brings up. My ROOF helmet feels heavier than this one & the LS2 is far more plush. Other complaint is to attach my Senna, I lost the ability to drop the smoke drop down screen. No other place to mount it than right over the release mechanism. No a real loss since you can wear your favorite sunglasses comfortably, but a loss all the same.

Went to a motorcycle store here in Albuquerque who claimed this helmet, which I own, was the "lawsuit" helmet. Claimed they stole it from Shark and were in a lawsuit over it. ??? Personally, I love the helmet. Female rider and I do NOT find it heavy. I have ridden 300 mile days with this easily and comfortably. Just FYI!

Would love to hear a head to head of this helmet Vs the Shark. Looking to get one or the other and really can't decide. Looking for the flexability of the full/mod and 3/4 as i commute 150 miles round trip daily. love the idea of the chin bar for the expressway/bad weather portion of the ride and the flip up 3/4 option for the smaller 2 lane road portion of that commute and great weather days.

This is a pre-production sample, so we don't have the production weight, but in the current form, it's just a touch heavier than the Shark Evoline 3. However, the Valiant has an intermediate oval fit, which should fit more people than the Shark's rounder fit. Functionally, both helmets operate very similarly. -DrewZilla

I have 2 of these helmets. The first I bought 18mths ago (2XL) I also bought the linkin ridepal 3 headset for it and the combo suited my purpose. Over that time the helmets been ok, a few visor and pinlock issues and it started to feel quite loose. Last week I bought another (this time XL) mainly because I have spare visors for the valient. I must say though the newer valient despite being obviously a tighter fit it also doesn't feel as good. Time will tell. On both helmets I have acquired them at less that half the marked Rrp and feel that in both cases that was a fair price for what you get.

I have never tried the 2. I picked up this one pretty cheap. Prob because the 2 was coming out. I was Daytona bike week this year just as the pandemic was unfolding. Got into an awesome helmet shop on beach street. Got to try them on for size. So glad I did. For some reason I needed a 2XL. Never have for any other helmet before. So they may run small. And the foam cheek pads are pretty stiff and are awesome once them break in a little. This so far has been the best helmet I have ever had.

I purchased the Shark Evo One 2. Lighter than the older Evoline 3 and better air flow. I would suggest if you are looking at purchasing the LS2 then give the Shark Evo One 2 a going over. Love my Shark.

I have this LS2 Variant. It fits a bit snug along the jaw but, not to the point of uncomfortable. The ventilation is imo, fair. I live in CA Inland empire. It gets very hot here. The buffering felt when riding freeway speeds in 3/4 mode, is hardly noticable. However, it is quite noisy at speed, nearly forcing the need to close up to full face mode at freeway speeds. It works well with my wired headset with a boom mic. The install of the headset was about 10 minutes, easy. One note: This helmet cannot be dawned or removed with the chin bar down. I have only put about 500 miles on it so far. So I can't speak to how it feels on a longer ride, yet.

Looking at the Valiant but not interested in the integrated SENA bluetooth device. If adding a 3rd party device or even another SENA unit, will this interfere with the visor mechanism on the left? Seems like they would both try and occupy the same area.

Sena makes a system that goes inside the helmet. Complete missed that on the review, Also missed that the face shield goes up automatically when the chin bar is dropped from rear unlike the shark that drags the chin bar on the shield.

JTC Intl i have one. Sun visor is sturdy. Wont fall down. Sound. Its loud. Consider ear plug for long ride. Visibility is good. Not narrow. The build is good. Require break-in. The chic pad is tight. Once break its snuggly fit. Ventilation medium. But you can just flip the visor for max ventilation.

It looks tight around your cheeks when the chin bar is flipped back. I noticed he removed the foam pads around your chin and a second comfort liner for the head. Do you have to use the cheek pad while wearing it? Just curious.

I hate intermediate oval they are too narrow. That's a deal breaker for me. I was interested, and watching this because it was a round oval. I wear a half helmet and a Arai quantum now. But my half helmet it 10 year old and I now can't get liners for it, so I was thinking of upgrading my summer helmet to a modular in a round oval

The issue is both the visor actuator and the path of the rotating chin bar. Both make is difficult or impossible to mount any side-mount communicator. Neither the Valiant, Valiant II, nor the Shark Evoline series would really work. -DrewZilla

Got the LS2 Valiant helmet, but with the Sena Ride III bluetooth, four months ago. Bluetooth is already dead and it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a response from either Sena or LS2, via phone or writing. Not recommended.

It's best to use a cloth tape measure to get your head circumference around the crown of your head. Then compare that measurement to the size chart on the product page. Oh dam... the fact they branded LS2 6 times is more than enough to put me off the whole LS2 helmet brand.. i dont like over branding and no need for it.. For the same price range i rather stick to Arai for better quality and doesnt have Arai stamped 6 times all over the helmet.

That's the first thing I noticed too. I was centimeters away from purchasing this helmet but when I saw all the branding spam, I'm like ummm I think not. The cost of decals to try to cover that mess would negate any cost savings this helmet may save me over others.
