Heart-in-your-throat action in the semis. As long as you're not playing, you have to laugh through the gasps. I sense here that TBOD -the Board of Doom - the infamous Board #1 from the Top 6 Doubles Final has made its return. Then again it may just be humidity or sweaty, greasy discs. Well at least that'll keep these stellar players from showing too much complacency. This just keeps getting better and better. Like the different angles a lot as well, that way you don't miss the shocked reaction of either of our heroes :^0! Cheers Nathan, superlative work, spot on commentary, much appreciated.

The bumped up extra graphics at the opening are a nice touch too. I think the youtube algorithm can sniff out quality, it's not that random.

So when I got my board to play with friends, I researched the different kinds of shuffle board powder you can use. In all of these videos I've never seen players put down their powder in the gutter. Are there rules for that? For a slow board like that, a thicker grittier powder would be better to keep the puck off the board longer for a crisper shot. NIce! That's the first analogy I've heard for crokinole and F1. In fact that may be the first analogy I've heard for crokinole and any sport.

a slow board can that be fixed or is the board just like that for ever ??
@crokinolecentre
@crokinolecentre 5 жыл бұрын
No the board can be waxed to be made faster. The players also have access to powder wax in the ditch which they can use to make their discs travel faster. There's also nothing that suggests the board needs to be "fixed." It's just that the players mostly struggled early in the game adapting to the speed compared to some of the other boards they played on.

@@crokinolecentre oke oke TY i did not know that. then how often do you need to wax a board then ?? TY for the fast reply
@crokinolecentre
@crokinolecentre 5 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminwit1098 Not too often. Competitive players might wax their boards 1-2 times per month due to heavy use. If your board is sitting in a climate controlled area (such as a house), you may only need to wax 1-2 times per year to keep it at a desired speed.

Good and dramatic match! (Sorry, but a little bit disturbing as the angle of view always changes... - "crossing the line" problem )
@ericrm305

Hi Daniel, are you referring to crossing the quadrant line? You are allowed to cross over as long as you are still touching the line. But perhaps you are talking about something else. Can you elaborate or give a time reference to where you see the '"crossing the line" problem'? Cheers.

@@ericrm305 Was not any problem with rules in the game :) "Crossing the line" is a movie term, a mistake, when you change the view angles, and seems, if a player plays with ownself - everybody shot from left side of board

@@letaydani Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I see exactly what you mean now that you've pointed it out. However it never confused me before ... NOW it does! :^( A little knowledge is a dangerous thing ;^) It helps a little that one player wears a black T-shirt and the other white. And yet, here I thought the stress level was because the players seemed to be playing against themselves as much as they are against each other when some of it is due to 'reverse angle anxiety'. ( Is there a cure? Suppose the shot was flipped? Hmmm, then we end up with a lot more left-handers I suppose... and confusing T-shirt messages.)
