I'm from Europe and I've visited the LSU campus during my USA tour in 2018. Very nice campus with the typical American college atmosphere. If I was 20 again I would have applied for an abroad semester here.

LSU is “prestigious” now?🤔

Let's break it down, If LSU is the 2nd best university in the state, and for argument's sake there are 15 4 year universities, That puts LSU in the 87th percentile of Universities, anything in the top 80% of any state except perhaps Alaska and Wyoming are good enough to be considering prestigious locally.

@@SamsungS23Ultr Oh, that's a nice argument. I definitely agree that it's locally prestigious. The video said it was nationally prestigious and I just think you have to at least crack the top 30 in USNWR for that one.

@@chadgermany That's quite a high standard and I can't really argue against that opinion. For me a school has to be Top 200 internationally to be prestigious globally. Top 150 nationwide to be nationally prestigious (still top 90ish percent). Top 30 to be regionally Prestigious (ie: Midwest, Southeast, ETC) and top 2 or top 80th percent to be prestigious state wide. The Ivies, MIT, Caltech are Globally prestigious. Florida state, Madison or Penn State is Nationally Prestigious. LSU or The University of Arizona are regionally prestigious and like... something as bad as Utah State could be considered prestigious by the standards of Utah.

@@chadgermany I like organizing it like this, because people from Wyoming may see The University of Colorado as the pinnacle of academia or "The end goal" as it were, while someone from Massachusetts's would see something like Harvard as the pinnacle.

У нас в СНГ подобного и близко нет по уровню и по масштабу учебных заведений. Все что мы имеет даже в самых элитных вузах это пару зданий советского образца, с преподавателями из которых только единицы имеют уникальный опыт по их профессии. И само собой никаких нобелевских премий у нас нет.

LSU is a great school, sure. But prestigious? I wouldn’t go that far. Their acceptance rate is 71%. That is the exact opposite of prestigious.
